Last year paying off my hospitalization bills meant I could not buy a lot of things for ~~~~myself, correction I did not buy anything for myself.
My focus was to escape from a debt of a million pesos ($19,600 USD) and so that meant a lot of sacrifices and buying books is one of them.
So my happiness when I checked my finances and thought I could reward myself with something this time and I added this book to my cart.
Shipping was pretty fast as I ordered it last Friday and I was able to receive it today.
Covered in this cardboard box is a treasure of words. Of lands afar and characters that are seemingly alive.
I sprayed the box and hit it with some UV rays as a precaution. I don't want a repeat of last year's critical Covid!
Opening the box, it was further safeguarded by a bubblewrap and plastic. Man the amount of waste we have use.
Another round of UV rays while wearing a mask.
Then there it was the book itself in all its glory. I of course baked it in the UV box again for one last time. Can't be complacent.
Then with trembling hands, I turn the cover only to find a couple more of beautifully drawn illustrations.
I have sort of an idea of who they are based on the very vivid description of the author of some of the primary characters of the book.
My guess on the first one is Szeth-son-son-Vallano but I could be wrong!
The second one is definitely Shallan Davar with her distinctive red hair.
The third one possessing such alluring black hair and a dusky, ravishing beauty can be none other than Jasnah Kholin.
Frankly, I am not sure about the fourth one. It could be a new character or an old one drawn differently from what I imagined.
Yet I am excited to start this journey on the fourth book of the Stormlight Archives, The Rhythm of War.
Ah I just love the smell and feel of a new book.

It looks like a nice book. Reading books was one of my passions but unfortunately I no longer have the time to do so.
