Holiday Wishes on a Christmas Tree

in Hive PHlast year (edited)

As early as November our Christmas Tree in the office is already up. It has minimal decorations but it contains a lot. A lot of our wishes for our exchange gift at Christmas gathering.

It has been a tradition in our office to put our wishlist in a Christmas tree so that those who picked our names would know what is our material wish for Christmas. Others would say specific items and some would not. A few can be bought in stores here in our place but most of the wishlists can be bought online in Shoppee, Lazada, Zalora, or Shein. That's basically the reason why we set-up the Christmas Tree earlier so that we can order ahead and give the gift on the date of the event. In the past years, there were times that the delivery was delayed, and the order details was given instead as proof that it was bought.

For this year, my wishlist is a smart watch. I wish to have a smart watch because I have workouts that could possibly be tracked through a smart watch and yeah, I just want to experience having a smart watch. Some of my friends are recommending it for fitness thing.

Last year, my wishlist was granted. My colleague gifted me with a skipping rope. I was able to use it just a few times only because I usually do walking and running but it still exists until now.
The previous years also, most of my wishlists were granted and I am happy with that. Hopefully, this year will be the same.

My manito (the name I randomly picked) on the other hand does not have any wishlist in the tree. He said through our secretary that anything that comes from the heart would do. Now, I am left thinking about what gift or things would he possibly like. I am thinking of options right now.

Some may say that having a wishlist would no longer give the element of surprise. That's why I usually put 3 options in my list so that I will still be exited about what is chosen among the 3. But, it is just a wishlist, the giver could still opt not to give what's on the list. How about you? which would you like best? have a wishlist or do not have a wishlist at all?

Aside from this material wishlist in mind, my very wish this Christmas is for me to finish my schooling. I am really hoping that I will have a good defense result for my study. Of course, good health for the family especially my kids, and we could be contented with what we have right now. It is my prayer that love would always prevail and that people would not forget the true meaning of Christmas. That is, our Saviour was born to die for our sins and we should accept Him as our Saviour.

Sana all talaga ang ang aga nung pagset up nung Christmas tree. Hihi

I was part of something similar once at the office, but we only picked names, no wish list was attached. So it was up to you what you give to the person.

About the element of surprise, that is both good and bad. You may get a nice gift, or something you don't like, but I think I would still go with not making a wish list.

Anyway, good luck and I hope you get the watch.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Before we had no wishlist, but through time we appreciate having a wishlist then. I am hoping for the watch but if it's not, it would still be ok.

Wow! early bird sa blogging contest, congrats sis... kahit ang office nyu early bird din ang christmas tree but I hope so you will receive one among the three you have in your wishlist.

Salamat po, may vacant time kasi kaya yan, nakaisip ng article, excited sumali for this month. Yeah, November palang up na up na ang tree. Will surely share here kung natupad ang wish ko.
