On September 25, the Philippines celebrated a Family Day, and before that date, the Executive Department of the Government released an order regarding the celebration of Family Day, it indicates that the Employees of the Executive Offices shall go home at 3 in the afternoon to have enough time for a family dinner with the loved ones. And I am thankful for that order. Since it was a school day, and the first school day of the week, Our school just decided to shorten the time of class per subject. Instead of an hour, we moved to 40 minutes so that all subjects must be catered on that day and we can go home at 3 in the afternoon.
Time to go Home
I felt too excited thinking about what to prepare for our family dinner. But, my excitement doesn't bother my lesson delivery in the class. When we are busy, we feel the time as if it runs too fast. 3 pm is too fast approaching, time to prepare to go home. It was raining that time but the rain could not stop me from hurrying. The rain was so heavy that I was wholly wet even though I wore a raincoat. But the rain stopped as I was in Bogo City. I made my stopover at the Don Machiatos store to buy some drinks for our family dinner.
A Dinner Preparation
Luckily, as I arrived home, it was 5 p.m., and my wife was already done preparing for our dinner. We just have simple foods prepared, but they seem too delicious. I changed clothes and then quickly helped my wife in preparation.
We just sat by the floor so that we enjoy the moments of talking while eating. But before eating, we have had our prayer.
Foods Prepared
Vegetable Soup
I instructed my wife to prepare a vegetable soup called "Utan" in our language. It is delicious, yet, nutritious.
Fried Dried Fish
Dried fish serves as our appetizer. It is delicious. I bought some of the dried fish in the supermarket last Sunday.
Pork and Chicken Barbecue
My wife prepared this Chicken, chicken intestines "isaw", hotdog, and pork barbecue. She grilled this inside the house with the use of charcoal and wire gauze. I also bought meat in the supermarket and stocked it in our refrigerator as our daily consumables.
Cucumber Salad
My wife also prepared a cucumber salad. This serves as our appetizer also. It is very delicious.
Don Macchiato Milk Tea
Last but not least is the Milk Tea from the Don Macchiato store. We used to drink this rather than carbonated drinks or soft drinks.
While eating, we enjoyed talking about pasts, our dreams, and our daughter's future, and we discussed to history of the country such as World Wars 1 and 2 (Hahaha, We enjoyed it so much that we never realized that we were already done all the foods in the plate).
Our family dinner during the Family Day celebration created a treasured memory that will be etched in our hearts forever. This dinner was a reminder of the everlasting love and joy that comes from being a part of a loving family.
