Sharing is Caring: An Easy Process of Vehicle Registration Renewal

in Hive PH7 months ago
Have a great weekend everyone. Today is back to work after a long holiday. Government offices also are open for transactions, that's why I woke up early today since I have a planned transaction at the Land Transportation Office (LTO). My Aunt requested me to renew the registration of her motorcycle since it has already expired in 2020.

Please be with me as we are going to talk about the process of renewing the registration of your vehicles at home, especially motorcycles. There are several changes in the renewal process of motorcycle registration. Let me explain this, to avoid scams, such as fake registration, please register your vehicles on your own following the correct process, and avoid fixers so that you will not end up like the others who paid a huge amount of penalties, and their vehicles were apprehended.

The Step by Step Process

1. Smoke Testing or Emission Test
Smoke Test or Emission Testing is a crucial part of Vehicle Registration. It is the way of determining the amount of Carbon Emission or other harmful Gases from our vehicles. This is the first step to take. In other areas, there are so-called PMVIC or Private Motor Vehicle Inspection Centers, but it is not mandatory, only the Smoke Test is mandatory and is a must during Vehicle Registration Renewal. In our town, we don't have an Emission Testing Center, that's why I traveled to the Municipality of Tuburan for an Emission Test. The amount paid varies depending on the vehicle type. I paid 450 pesos for the motorcycle Smoke Test. For the four-wheel vehicles, it is 550 pesos.

This is the name of the Emission Testing Center in Tuburan

2. Insurance Payment

It is also very important and is mandatory in Vehicle Registration and Renewal. There are different Insurance Companies that you can have your motorcycle or any vehicle insured. For the motorcycle, most Insurance Company offers a value of 700 pesos, and there are some offering 500 pesos. There are various Insurance Companies near the LTO area in the Medellin Extension Office.

3. Motor Vehicle Inspection System (MVIS)

This Area is where the MVIS took place

It is a mandatory process in Vehicle Registration or Renewal. The inspection was conducted by an LTO personnel or Inspector where the important features of your vehicle must be inspected such as signal lights, headlights, tail lights, brake lights, Vehicle Horns, Brakes, Side mirrors, seats, and Vehicle Pipes.

4. Submission of Papers to LTO Personnel

After the MVIS, if you have an updated Renewal of Vehicle Registration, you can directly submit your papers to the front desk and wait for payment as your Vehicle Registration has been processed. But if you have an expired Vehicle Registration for many years, you need to sign in and register in the LTMS Portal of the LTO and you will register the name of the owner indicated in the Certificate of Registration of your Vehicle, after that, you can proceed to the front desk for submission of papers.

I am here waiting in the waiting area, attentively waiting for my name to be called for payment and to claim the Official receipt of the Registration Renewal of my vehicle.

While waiting, I looked at this Vehicle impounded because of violations, such as no registration, expired registration, or incomplete driver. The penalty imposed by LTO for the violators is very high.

Time to Go Home

After receiving the Official Receipt (OR), I went home, and while on my way home, I was stunned by the view of sunset in the Medellin Duckside. The Sunset is very beautiful wherein you can reflect on how wonderful is God's creation.

Thank you for sharing your experience sir @mrexperienciado. That's right we need to register our vehicles otherwise we suffer from high penalties when caught by authorities with unregistered or expired documents.

This is very educational others will have an idea on how to process registration for the first timer. It's not easy to process the registration of one vehicle but we must do it to be legal. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, ma'am dehai. It is very important to follow the process to avoid scams. As I have heard, there were a lot of complaints regarding the fake registration due to fixers.

Thanks for sharing the steps on how to process the documents needed for registration Sir @mrexperienciado❤️Its really a great help for those who want to renew the registration of their vehicles😊

You are welcome maam.
Thank you also for dropping by.

Everbody is doing a smoka and emission test over there? It's hard to believe when I see documentaries, programs and pictures about Sout-East Asian countries... Or is it a one-time test and after that no need to check it any more till the registration expires? !LOL
