To be Birthed Being Poor

Poverty is hard in many ways. It forces you to be in the most complex situations you would start to question life and doubt what does your future prepares.

In addition, people who lived in poverty couldn't be blamed for having a life lived that way, neither tell them over-positively that they should keep the hard work. Because there are those people who are in lower class who spent their entire lives working (in farms, public, construction), overworking but still stuck due to the lesser job opportunities, little salary, and some failure on the government units.

There is really nothing to be grateful of experiencing poverty at all. Aside from it limits you in life, it also complicates everything in your life and everything that surrounds like a non-stop domino effect.

However, there is something to be grateful for,

Albeit poverty might be difficult, it ironically has its "helpful effects" despite of its negative aspects.

It allows you to see things differently
  • You'll relate. You'll be aware. You'll know that life isn't linear. (Bitterly, sometimes if everything gets too familiar you'll even start to doubt that life has been on circular motion at all.) Anyway, the point is that you will see things differently and would start to think vast and out of the box. Practically: you would start to see the value of a one penny. Practically: you would start to realize how a spoonful food could sustain a life. Practically: your guts would be tested to choose the things you need most over the things you love.
It practices you survival
  • Experiencing poverty is a lifetime battle for survival. Hunger games exist—it is a constant struggle for those unfortunate to find money and sustain daily needs. Mental instability exists—and sadly, it's a taboo for unfortunate people to categorize themselves with depression and stress. Although, there are struggles that became generational crisis traits, there have been struggles that were accordingly dealt and have positive effects such as striving to move forward in order to have a bright future, and the quality of endurance to persevere in life.
It trains you to be grateful, humble your attitude, and appreciate little things.
  • Because perspective controls what you behave, the positive you view things despite how dark the world could be, the easier a hard situation could get. It is in the same manner that if you know how to appreciate and be contented on even the little things you got.

Although sometimes perspectives don't really make bigger changes in one's life, it can still help in a way to color oneself in times when the darkness begans to start unbearable.

Sure, life is a teacher, but poverty would teach you what life truly is in the most unexpected worse ways.

It makes a person stronger to a large extent a fortunate and a privileged one is not. It made me. Yes, I also ask how would it feels like living a life where you can easily get what you want, where you are not limited to your dreams and to what you aspire. But, being poor doesn't mean I am not rich, there are still these rich ones who are poor. Even if I am used living in a hard way, I never limit myself to feel happy, to know what is to be loved unconditionally without asking anything in exchange.

There is nothing wrong to be born into an unprivileged family. Being poor sometimes taught us great lessons in life; it helps us to see things differently in a good way. Speaking of survival, yes, when you are poor, you definitely need to adapt and survive. Your blog today is a great reminder that we may be poor today, but we can step up in the ladder, and improve our lives.

thank you so much for the sharing your thoughts @dennnmarc , i appreciate it so much that you got what i was trying to express. truly, being poor helps us to be appreciative and be kinder because we understands what life really is.

You're welcome! I actually liked it. The way you contrast and give positive sides of being poor. In the end, what matters most is our contentment and happiness while living.

being grateful and having a good perspective helps us a lot really, happy sunday!

Indeed! Have a happy and blessed Sunday. Sabbath day! 🤗

Great post @rene.neverfound . Its one of the great tragedies of this world that poverty is unnecessary and could be eliminated with a few pen strokes. Instead, more people are being forced into poverty every day.

it's so sad to witness this never ending cycle of poverty, i think this has no end. anyway, thank you so much for reading 💗

Poverty is easy to eliminate. We have all the tools and it has been costed down to the last cent. The key that has been found through much research and repeated in many real world examples is to educate and empower women in poverty. That has proven many times to increase relative wealth through entrepreneurship , reduce the number of children raised per women and decrease child mortality, domestic violence and increase the lifespan of women.

Interestingly, costing has shown that the cost of eliminating world poverty is less than the amount Jeff Bezos earns in a single day and he knows it, making it a personal choice of his every day not to end it.

Difficult situation creates a strong person. I read that somewhere. I came from a life where everyday is an uncertainty. I'm not sure if there'll be food on the table, I'm not sure if I'll be able to go to school, I'm not sure if me and my siblings would ever experience a good life.

But all these made us stronger than ever. I was able to finish college even if it meant I had to walk kilometers everyday just to get to school and go home, I had to work harder than everyone else just so I could send my siblings to school too, while also financing my own studies.

Poverty sure looks like a sad story. But in reality it produces the strong and humble individuals with the heart to help others because they understand what it is like to have nothing.

I'm so proud of you po, ate @romeskie ! almost the same story kay mama, naging working student siya upang makapagtapos din. Truly, poverty produces strong hearts with down to earth attitudes kasi they relate and know how hard life is. thank you so much for reading po and for sharing you experience 💗💗💗

Living in a life of poverty made people question their existence, honestly, it's their own decision, we humans tend to have choices if we want to do some actions to escape that poverty but still, we do nothing and keep blaming other people or the government for why we are still poor. It's usually common among Filipinos maybe that's the reason why poverty never ends here in the Philippines.

I get your point, it's about diskarte, striving harder, however there are people who constantly work hard, who do overtime works, farmers who day by day work on their crops, they've been working harder for years but they're still there, living life in poverty because Philippines has a problem and not just its people. The higher sectors are part to be blamed for not giving enough opportunities, budget, salaries to Filipinos. Our economic is so downright worse even.

anyway, thank you for letting me know your opinion, i do appreciate it so much @chikakiku

There may be chances that you will be born poor but I can say that you're lucky to be in that one. I can say that because I was born in such a situation now and I can say that this kind of situation I'm in now taught me already a lot of lessons. I'm sure that I can learn more about the important lessons but I also promised to myself that I will try my best to cut the situation we are in no matter what.

i am still grateful to live a way like this where i know myself that i know what life truly is. being poor makes you tougher really, but you are correct, that as much as we can, we must try and work hard to escape the difficult situation we are at. thank you so much for reading and for sharing your thought, i do appreciate it a lot
