Good day, hivers! As we all know, the people of Northern Cebu suffered so much from the 6.9 earthquake magnitude that strikes us. Right now, we continuously experience strong aftershocks and my heart aches for those families who are severely affected.
Because of this traumatic event, students were forced to continue their academic journeys through online modules or printed modules that was distributed to each and everyone of us. As a graduating student, it was, again, a heartbreaking news and we felt so hopeless to learn. Today, allow me to share my favorite activities during the first week of our online module that somehow made it felt like an ordinary face to face class.
ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
In this activity, we were instructed to choose one famous artist in the Philippines and we have to state his/her key skills, unique techniques, and preferred medium. I chose Juan Luna and since he made excellent impact in the Philippine art history, I looked for a template with historical designs and this is how it turned out, I very much love this one.
COLLAGE
For the next one, we were instructed to make a collage for our younger self. At first, I chose to look for a cute collage template in canva but I realized that most of my classmate will also look for templates and it is possible that we will choose the same so I decided to make my own template. I searched for inspo in Pinterest and this is the cutest I could ever done. I love how it turned out to be aesthetic, I just don't like how I changed the background color to gray when in fact I could let it stay white. Still, it was okay for me and I love it.
LETTERING
For the third one, we were instructed to write our name in lettering way using the our own unique technique. I made it very simple but I put my all effort, especially in choosing color and the background design. I love the result and this includes in my top 3 most favorite.
LAND ART
Next is about creating a land art. We were instructed to choose a particular space in our surroundings where we could do our art, it could either be a shape, a flower, a pattern or an animal. In my case, I chose to do art of a jellyfish. I got this inspo from Google where the artist use different kinds of leaves with different colors. I gathered the leaves and I also added some flower as an outline then it's all done. I was hesitating to pass this one since it felt weird to be the only one in class at that time that did animal rather than flower or patterns but I passed it anyways. It was different from other that's why I love it.
3D MINIATURE HOUSE
Lastly, our topic in this subject is about family structure. In this activity we were instructed to make a 3D miniature house and relate every parts of it to each of our family members. Since I couldn't think of any house design, I decided to copy the design of our house. I got overwhelmed by doing this especially because of the earthquake that struck us recently. I am very happy that our house did not gave up during those strong quakes and also because I got to do this miniature house that looks exactly like our real house. And so far, this is my top 1 most favorite.
