In the Philippines, the most common formmof entertainment is videoke. Whenever there's an occassion, there is videoke most of the time. And most likely, there wikk be one or two or more who could sing beautifully. Let me let you in on the different kinds of videoke singers here in the Philippines.
First the auditioner. They are the ones who could sing those high note songs with no problem. Often, they have the power to stun the crowd silent while they are belting a Whitney Houston or a Celine Dion masterpiece. They would most likely be the first to hold the mic and pick a song because they may or may not have memorized the number combination of their favorite song. This kind is the crowd favorite.
The concert king/queen. There is a possibility that this kind of videoke singer has a good voice but there is a chance that they just love singing. Once they get hold of the songbook, they would go straight to the song title, enter the number combination on the videoke and then look for their next song, enter it right away to look for another.
The songbook reviewer. The treat the songbook like an entrance exam reviewer. Unlike the concert king/queen, they don't know what song they'd want to sing. Most probably they feel the pressure from the auditioner type, and would take the time to choose the song while the concert king/queen is singing their batch of songs.
Then there's the voice director. He listens intently to the voices of the videoke singers and in his mind, thinks of the best song that suits that person's voice. They usually would request a song, or enter a song number and have another person sing it.
There's the unsynchronized one. This one couldn't focus on the tune and tempo because the videoke machine js too damn loud. Usually makes up the voice and tune amd tempo with dance or comical movements. They may seem lost in the song literally but most of the time, they bring out the wholesome fun in the gathering.
In almost every household in a typical Filipino family, a videoke machine is oart of their appliances. Nowadays, youtube has a lot of channels that uses videoke material for content. They get the views through videoke enthusiasts who love singing. There have been portable mini microphones too that helps Filipinos enjoy thwie videoke experience through their mobile phones.
That's how much filipinos love to videoke. And in every group, there is most likely wach one of the typesnof videoke singers present. Can you think of other types of videoke singers?

Oh but that's the thing. Videoke doesn't really actually require excellent singing. You just need to have fun and feel the music. Deadma sa magsabing di maganda ang singing. Ang importante, naenjoy mo. Haha
Some will only sing if they are already drank😁. And they you cannot get hold of the microphone anymore .
Oh the drunken confidence level. This is the best type. Most of the time these ones create the unforgettable memories of the gathering.
