Good day, everyone. For today's blog, I’d like to share our story about how God helped us not only financially but also emotionally after the 6.9 magnitude earthquake and the series of aftershocks that followed. As a father, one of my greatest worries at that time was how I could continue to feed and protect my family. It’s something every parent can relate to... that instinct to ensure our loved ones are safe, fed, and cared for, no matter the circumstances.
When the earthquake struck, everything happened so fast. We didn’t even have time to grab anything and all we could think of was to run for our lives. Buildings were shaking, people were crying and shouting in fear. It felt like the world was falling apart right before our eyes. But by God’s mercy, we survived. That alone was already a huge blessing and the gift of life itself.
After the quake, reality started to sink in. We had nothing left. No food, no electricity, and the fear of another strong aftershock made it hard to rest. We managed to survive by eating bananas, and at that moment, we realized how even the simplest things, things we used to overlook, could mean the difference between despair and hope. It made us see that God provides in ways we don’t always expect.

The very next day, I received a call from our brothers and sisters in the faith, saying there were relief goods available for us. I can’t even explain how comforting that moment was. It wasn’t just about the food or supplies but was about feeling that we were not alone. That’s when I truly felt the love and unity that comes from our spiritual family. It reminded me that God always has His ways of showing care through the hands of others.
A few days later, we also received help from the barangay. Honestly, we didn’t expect it anymore. We knew there were others who were suffering just as much, or even more than we were. But the fact that help still came our way was another reminder that God provides for everyone in His own time and in His own way.

Until today, whenever I pass by people on the streets especially those asking for food, my heart aches. I know the feeling of having nothing, of wondering where your next meal will come from. This whole experience changed the way I look at life. It taught me to be more compassionate, more understanding, and most of all, more grateful.
Because truly, being alive after everything that happened is already a miracle. Whether rich or poor, everyone lost something that day, their homes, possessions, and peace of mind. But we also gained something valuable: the awareness that life, faith, and unity matter far more than anything material.
Despite the pain and fear, I learned that gratitude is what keeps the heart strong. Even the little things, the food on the table, a roof over our heads, and the warmth of family are blessings we should never take for granted.
Through it all, I’ve come to realize that God never left us. He was with us in every tremor, every tear, every act of kindness. And because of that, I will always be thankful.
I saw a lot of reels and Facebook about the earthquake, the aftermath and people receiving relief goods.
Hoping everyone received enough so they get starve.
What I admired are those people who are affected yes, but still managed shared whatever they had.
Sending hugs and prayers
