Good day, Hivers! It’s @rufajane back with another blog post for this week. For today’s blog, I’m taking you with me on a little journey... so shall we start?
As Grade 12 students, we are now given the chance to fill out college application forms for next school year. To make the story short, I chose CTU (Cebu Technological University). On December 1, 2025, I completed the online application, and to my surprise, I was immediately given a schedule for the entrance exam, December 10, 2025, at CTU Main Campus.

This meant I had to travel to Cebu, around 102–109 kilometers (63–68 miles) from central Cebu City. The trip normally takes about 2–3 hours by motorcycle or around 3 hours by bus, depending on the route from places like Hagnaya Port to the North Bus Terminal.

So, at 7:00 AM, my father (@rubenjr) and I started our trip to Cebu. We traveled by motorcycle, and honestly, it was exhausting but exciting at the same time. When we arrived at the campus, it was almost time for the orientation, so I ran to the waiting area where I met students from different schools who also hoped to study at CTU.

The entrance exam was taken online through computers, and we were given only 45 minutes to finish it. The subjects included Math, Science, and English. After finishing around noon, I rushed outside to meet my father because he planned to take me to lunch. But the campus was so huge that I got lost on my way out. I kept asking students for directions, but everyone pointed me to different gates because CTU has many exits with different names.

Thankfully, my father called and reminded me of the name of the gate we originally used, so I asked my way again and finally found the correct exit. But just when we thought everything was okay, my father noticed something wrong with our motorcycle. When we had it checked, we found out that one of the bolts had loosened, affecting the bike’s control.

We were shocked but thankful to God for keeping us safe. The repairs took several hours, including reinstalling the bolt and fixing the tire. By around 2:00 PM, we finally found a restaurant where we could eat and rest before heading home.

On the way back, we took time to enjoy the scenery and laugh about the unexpected twists of the day. When we finally arrived home, it was already 5:20 PM. My back hurt so much, and I was completely drained but the experience was truly memorable.
In God’s time, I hope to go back there again with my whole family. For now, that’s all for this blog. Ciao!

Nice meeting you
