Reminiscing Christmas Season with my Beloved Students

“Christmas is like candy; it slowly melts in your mouth sweetening every taste bud, making you wish it could last forever.” – Richelle E. Goodrich

Christmas season is the most wonderful time of the year. It's the season of giving and full of joyful moments together with your loved ones and friends. A day will never be enough to celebrate Christmas because of a bunch of wonderful reasons you want to celebrate during this month and you wish you had a lifetime merrier season all year round.

It is one of our traditions to make festive decorations about Christmas in our rooms and outside our houses to make it, even more, livelier and to feel the essence of the Christmas spirit.

Last December, one thing I would love to share with my blog today is how we decorated our DIY Christmas Tree and Santa Hats together with my students to feel the Christmas spirits.

DIY CHRISTMAS TREE

Buying Christmas Trees inside the mall is so expensive nowadays and it's an additional burden if we buy Christmas trees and other stuff to be decorated inside my classroom.

To minimize the expenses, I asked my students to have our DIY Christmas Trees and Santa Hats and bring recycled stuff relating to Christmas from their homes and other paper crafts to be decorated in our Christmas Tree.

This is what we did for our DIY Christmas Tree...

Materials Needed:

🎄Matured Maguey Flower from one of my students for the Christmas Tree
🎄4 packs of absorbent cotton
🎄1 pc White Glue
🎄Recycled Christmas Garlands
🎄Different types of Christmas paper crafts (stars, balls, Santa Claus, flowers, lanterns)

Steps in Creating the DIY Christmas Tree

✨First, we decorated the Maguey Flower with absorbent cotton. Be sure to check the durability of the maguey flower to maintain its lasting purpose inside the classroom upon decorating with absorbent cotton.

✨Slowly place the absorbent cotton in every strand and branch of the maguey flower to look attractive and not so messy.

✨Next, place the recycled Christmas garlands until the tip of the maguey flower. (As you can see, we do have different colors because we were just using whatever recycled Christmas stuff found in our homes to minimize the expenses).

✨After placing the garlands, we slowly decorated the paper crafts made by my student for our Maguey Tree. Different and colorful paper crafts like stars, cute and unique lanterns, DIY Santa Claus, and DIY Christmas Balls.

✨It was fun decorating our Christmas Tree inside the classroom. It proves that you don't need to buy expensive things to make a colorful and wonderful Christmas Tree. With the helping hands of my students, we created a unique design with love and passion for Christmas.

DIY SANTA HATS

After decorating our Christmas Tree, I also asked my students to design unique Santa Hats as another symbol of the spirit of Christmas in the classroom.

I let them utilize items made of cartons, used Manila Paper or newspaper, and recycled Christmas decor found at home. It was so inspiring seeing them doing the art with love for the things crafted. It's not how expensive the things made that will make it unique and stunning but the effort exerted and the learnings gained that will make it look more appealing and fulfilling to the eyes of everybody.

SIMPLE CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION WITH MY STUDENTS

The year-end party was one of the most awaited moments that students were waiting for during December. As early as the first week of November 2023 they wanted to plan a simple celebration for the Christmas Party. Seeing them planning for their party is an awesome feeling as an adviser. Taking part in the planning as adults is another achievement seeing them mature in their decision-making skills.

During the party, it was all fun and laughter shared by everyone. They enjoy the party. And of course, the exchanging of gifts will never be forgotten. It was overwhelming seeing them opening their gifts.

Indeed, it was another festive and memorable December for everyone.

That's all for today's blog my dear friends. It was fun sharing with you how we spent the Christmas season with my dear students. I hope you had a wonderful year ending last 2023.

Have a nice day everyone😊
