Ever since Typhoon Odette hit the province of Cebu, our company (Virginia Food, Inc.) has been helping its employees and residents from other areas with relief good operations. You might have already heard of these initiatives of our company from other posts like ours and @eatslance. They said that this will be the last for the giving of donations after Odette. We luckily are free during that time so we decided to join and experience it.
Before the day of the relief operations, we had a meeting in our office to prepare as to what will happen at the site tomorrow. Each group was assigned with different tasks. Teresa and I were assigned to the food committee together with Miss Jannica and @lakwatserangthik 's Niño and Rich 😊. Our group went to a supermarket to buy some goods the night before the activity. We bought some pocari sweat, sliced bread, and some sandwich spread.
ON OUR WAY TO MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY
We're all excited because this was our first time doing such activity. Niño offered to give us a ride from our house to the office, especially since to commute is so hard to do at 3 in the morning hahaha. We decided to order our breakfast for the volunteers that day via Grabfood, but they can't cater for 35 people. So we had no choice but to go directly to an open Jollibee branch and bought them personally. We chose chickenjoy for breakfast while burger with cheese for snack.
When we got back to office, almost everyone else already ate their breakfast beforehand. We went our way at around 5:30 am and stopped by at Mcdo - Lawaan to meet the beauty queens and to guide the Cebu rotary group in going to Carcar.
While waiting for them, free iced and hot coffee was served for everyone (also included in our budget for food).
Right after they arrived at our meeting place, we went on our way to Carcar's city hall to meet representatives and maybe their Mayor ( important government officials ) and join with them for the relief operations.
RELIEF GOODS OPERATIONS
After picturing taking with them, we went to our first stop right away. There were two barangays there. The first one received 600 pcs of relief goods, then 900 pcs for the second barangay. Each pack is composed of 5kgs of rice, bihon, yogurt, and some canned goods of our company. Dunkin' Donuts also donated for the snacks.
All our hardships are worth it. Even if it's hot and tiring, it's all worth it.
After giving the first barangay those relief goods, we moved on to the second barangay. It was quite the adventure going there because it is a secluded area and going there is hard haha. But it will only make it all worth it. I was teased by my colleagues as I repeatedly said Oh My God because of how shaky the car and unpaved the road is 😂. We still haven’t stepped foot on the ground, they were already cheering for us 💖. That’s how welcoming they were too us huhu.
They shouted, “Basta Hotdog, Virginia!”
They also offered tables for us to put the goods before distributing to the people.
This one’s a lot easier than the previous brgy because they’re more organized and it’s not that hot anymore. Even the boys in their barangay helped in carrying the relief goods to the table for us to distribute them easily. The people are not messy and they really followed the line assigned.
It really is a nice feeling to see how happy they were. Even if we weren’t personally the ones who spent money for those donations, we were merely helping in distributing them, we still felt the pleasure of having people thank your efforts, and for us, that feeling is so fulfilling 😊.
The areas we visited are not that easy to visit. Might be the reason why our heads chose those places to be our beneficiaries.
SIMALA SHRINE
We went to Simala Shrine right after that and ate our lunch there. We're thankful also that we were able to go back here after such a long time.
I shed some tears while I was praying to Mama Mary because it was like I was really talking to Her personally. Even before, I often visit here especially if my problems are already that heavy. It was exactly 3 years ago that I went here to pray for here. I was still heart broken and lost at that time. After 3 years, I can happily say that I'm healed and is already in love. My heart's full. Prayers do really come true ❤.
THE GOOD B.I. is a group of 4 employees-friends from Cebu City wanting to share their adventures and random ideas with everyone. The group’s future stories to tell will be so vast and diverse. Imagine having four brains to share different ideas and might end up in a disagreement. A feat that others might be so fearful to do, but they believe that it is what will make their posts more exceptional and remarkable.
If you want to see more posts from @thegoodbi - an upvote, comment, follow, and reblog would mean a lot to them. It would motivate them and learn more from their audience. Thank you and let us all keep safe. 😷

This is nice. I hope there are more to go, or you can even initiate on your own. Eventually, as you go to the process of community service, I also would like to bring up that be careful with the attachment of positive emotions in these certain altruistic activities. Despite the absence of such, please continue to volunteer. Some people only do it because of the happy feeling they get rather than the actual purpose of it, which makes it quite egoistic already. I
Yeah precisely, its really important not toforget the true reason/meaning of why we do such thing. And, Hopefully we here in hive community can also do a community outreach. We're 100% willing to volounter 😍😍
