The Worst Flood Control Was Wasted In The Philippines

in Hive PHlast month

I could imagine our lives living with the successful flood control. Our lifestyle and normal days would not be like these. Waking and sleeping with a flood inside our houses.

If our double decker wasn't like that, we'd probably have to leave the house sooner or later. But if you look at the photos below you'll see that we already hang it on the top of our dura boxes. Even if there's no storm the high tides keeps on going. And because we don't have proper flood control there's no way the water can be prevented from entering our area. Once we have hung the wooden planks, we will move in with my in-laws. But because there's no storm we keep enduring our worse situation. My son has brilliant idea on making his own bed on a hammock Hangin by tying it around on our house.

I first moved my daughter who is studying far away. She is already in college and her other siblings who are studying nearby also have no classes because of the flood. Without the Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) I don't know how the DEPED will calculate the grades of the students. But I admit that my children can't do all of their modules. We can't just evacuate to my in-laws. We need to get along. Besides I have four kids I need to take care of them.

If only my husband hadn't come home that day, we might not have moved either. My sister-in-law wasn't there either. Only her lazy nephew likes to act like she owns everything. She doesn't know how to get along. Even though we are taking on her work and even taking care of her child. She is the biggest reason why I didn't want to leave our house.

She already knew that her father was a burden, careless when it comes to its things and to others when he borrows it. She already knows his father is like that, but what she does is even worse.

The flood is slowly subsiding. We just moved in last Monday afternoon but it already feels like one week. The last storm when we evacuated we lasted for more than three weeks because my sister-in-law was here. But she needed to work abroad. These are our normal days now. We just hope that some changes will happen in the next few years so we can hearty feel that we are worth it and important.

I also hope things will change too for our country! The government should find a way to fix this flood soon... Laban lang po! 💞

Oh is this is terrible the government need to come for you people's assistance, to help you out of this, let's hope they will do something someday

It’s sad to see how much families are suffering because of poor flood control here in the Philippines. 😔 If the government invested properly in long term solutions, people wouldn’t have to live like this (and also this kurakot buwayas having hearings and all wala ron namang makukulong at the end lol) 🙄

This is one of the downside of living in the PH where majority of our funds goes to corrupt government officials. You must evacuate whenever floods like these happen for it could get worse. Please keep safe!🙏🏻

A heart breaking situation and to think the government is corrupting the fund for the flood control projects. They can sleep and eat with the money of the people having a luxury life. Spending millions of pesos to their lavish lifestyle. And yet the people are sacrificing their situation with the flood I hope it can be correct.

If the politicians and other government agencies were not corrupt, we will not experience this kind of stuff. Hoping for the brighter future of our country.
