Sitio Patag is one of the nearby Sitios here in our Barangay. Last January 28 2023, the people who live there celebrated their annual fiesta celebration with its Patron Saint, Senyor Santo Niño.
Its been part of the culture that every Fiesta celebrations, the Barangay Officials, with the collaboration of Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Officials will organized a "Barangay League" for all aspiring Basketball and Volleyball Players. But this year, the sponsors of the said event give more of attention on conducting the Basketball League for both Men and Women. "Para maiba naman daw." Aside from that, the reason behind it was because the hosted Sitio don't have enough players, especially in the Women's Division for Volleyball. And so, the organizers and the prizes' sponsors were all agreed.
Four days ago before the Fiesta Day, the games for the league has started. My Volleyball teammates decided to join. The team was composed with the Team Nanays (Mothers) and Team Bagets (Youngsters). Though I was encouraged to join the team, I refuse them because I don't want to be soaked in the rain waters while at play. I don't want to get sick again like what I have experienced during the time we played at Sitio Kainting last December. And by that, they went on without me in the team.
During the evening, I went to my Aunts' and asked if they win their game and she said yes. I am very happy to know that of course. There were only three teams who joined which is why, the committee decided to have a Double Elimination type of Tournament. As for the Mens Division, I don't know much about the details, all I knew was that they advanced for the Championship game.
Fiesta Day
The original plan of the day was to have a Dance Practice for our SK presentation together with our Grade School Teachers for the upcoming Fiesta Celebration happening this February 11, 2023 here in our Barangay. One of the members still on travel, so I decided to contact my other group mate and invite her to come with me to watch the Championship games. To my surprise, around 1:30 pm, she arrives already but we didn't proceed to the dance practice, instead, the three of us went to Sitio Patag and watch the games.
When we arrived there, the game already started in Women's Division. There were lots of audience watching there. Actually, my papa was there also. One of our elementary classmate joined it so we cheered for her. Unfortunately, they didn't win the game which declared them as the Third placer. After the game, she invited us at their house to eat.* "Pagkain na yan, di talaga tatanggihan."* Lol.XD. They served us, "Menudo", "Pork Humba," and a lot more. After eating, we decided to rest a bit while waiting for the next game. We took some selfies together. "Part na yan siyempre."

Then the commentator announced the next game which was played by Team Cacao and Team Hampangan. It was a Championship game. It was a close game. Despite the fact that the ball didn't bounce accordingly on the floor because of the wet playground, still, the players managed to give their best shots to win. At the end, Team Cacao was declared as the Champion while Team Hampangan comes at Second.

Meanwhile, with the luck on their side, like I said earlier, my teammates won their first game which allows them to move forward in the next round. As decided the top three teams picked out numbers to indicate which team plays against each other. My teammates picked out number 3 and with that, they automatically advances on the Finals or the Championship game.
After the Mens Division Championship game, the Championship game for Women's Division follows. Each team were given 10 minutes for their warm up. And the rain started to poured out heavily. At this time, I was requested to become the scorer and my friend as the timer.
The game started with a tip off. Team Nanays played against Team Kainting. On the first quarter, Team Kainting managed to shoot three times which given them six points while Team Nanays comes with only two points. On the following quarters, Team Kainting scored a lot while Team Nanays was left behind with 6 points only.

Team Kainting kept on scoring till the last quarter which declares them as the over all Champion while Team Nanays placed at Second.
Final Thoughts:
It was an all out fun under the pouring rain. After the games, the committee organized the things as they went for a Disco Night. And by that, we decided to go home and prepared ourselves for the Dance Practice I've mentioned earlier up until 8 pm in the evening.
