En breve comienza la penúltima jornada de la Premier League. Las mayoría de las otras ligas más importantes de Europa ya tienen campeón, pero en Inglaterra no hay nada definido aún. Repasemos qué podemos esperar para ésta jornada. Acompáñame, por favor.
TOTTENHAM vs. MANCHESTER CITY
TOTTENHAM sigue siendo la víctima de los equipos grandes de Inglaterra en éste último tramo. En la última fecha salió vencido de Anfield 4-2, extendiendo su racha negativa a cuatro derrotas, en par de ellas ha quedado sin anotar, y con una diferencia de goles de -9. Antes de recibir al candidato al título deberá visitar al Burnley en unas horas. Lamentablemente los spurs deberán conformarse con estar presente en la Europa League, y a mi parecer es una competencia acorde al nivel que están mostrando en ésta temporada. Para llegar lejos en la Champions se necesita un poco más, y quizás puedan intentar lograrlo en la próxima temporada y ventanas de fichajes. Con todo, es un excelente puesto el que están logrando en la temporada donde se despidieron de su capitan y goleador estrella, así que creo que muchos estarán satisfechos. En su estadio aún no han empatado ésta campaña.
MANCHESTER CITY se pondrá al día con sus compromisos. En minutos jugará frente al Fulham, en Londres, para entonces llegar a éste compromiso en la misma ciudad. En la última fecha demostró su arsenal ofensivo ganando cómodamente al Wolverhampton 5-1, demostrando sus credenciales para volver a ser el campeón de la Premier League. Sigue siendo dominante cuando visita a los demás equipos, puesto que ha ganado 12 de los 17 partidos que ha disputado fuera de casa. Cuenta con toda la plantilla disponible, por eso es de esperar que hayan 90 minutos bien sufridos para los de Londres puesto de que los cambios no implican un desmejoro en la calidad de los jugadores en cancha.
Éste partido es importante, puesto de que puede resultar en el cambio definitivo del líder apenas a una jornada de terminar el campeonato. A mi juicio, Tottenham es el único que podría vencer a Manchester City en éste último tramo y quitarle la posibilidad a levantar la copa. De hecho, los cidadanos han perdido en los últimos cuatro partidos en el estadio de los spurs, ¡sin marcar goles siquiera! Y en la jornada 4 de ésta campaña, se resistieron a caer en el Etihad Stadium, pactando un empate. ¡Este es el partido de la jornda!
MANCHESTER UNITED vs. ARSENAL
MANCHESTER UNITED sigue decepcionando a muchos, y más recientemente por el resultado adverso en Londres frente a las águilas 4-0. Lleva dos partidos sin ganar y cayó estrepitosamente del sexto lugar al octavo, quedándose fuera de los puestos de competición europea, cediéndole lugar a equipo azul de Londres. La situación de salud de la plantilla sigue siendo preocupante, y recientemente Mount volvió a ingresar a la lista de lesionados. Aunque parece algo menor, es lo suficiente para que se pierta éste duelo en casa. Por su parte, Fernandes y McTominay están de vuelta en los entrenamientos por lo que se puede esperar que vean minutos en acción, y en especial el portugués, debido al importante papel que tienen en el juego colectivo. Aún así, hay muchas ausencias en la línea defensiva lo cual hace que Ten Hag no tenga mucho margen para elegir quiénes se encargarán de la ofensiva del otro candidato al título.
ARSENAL volvió a ganar, ésta vez ante el Bournemouth 3-0. Acumula cuatro victorias seguidas y en ese lapso ha dejado su portería sin goles en tres ocasiones. Mikel Arteta sigue mostrándose optimista y concentrado ante el objetivo de ganar la actual Premier League. Considera que está muy cerca de lograrlo, aunque reconoce que no depende enteramente de ellos. Sólo les queda seguir ganando y esperando resultados ajenos. Pero parece suficiente las palabras del entrenador español para suponer que el equipo seguirá saliendo a ganar y por grandes diferencias de goles. La mala noticia es que Saka y Tomiyasu no tienen su presencia asegurada para éste encuentro, y llama la atención más la situación del inglés debido a que es uno de los principales referentes de la ofensiva gunner. Pero seguramente Rice seguirá presente en la mitad del campo y el portero Raya demostrará por qué es el favorito de Arteta.
En los últimos cinco encuentros en Old Trafford la balanza se inclina a los diablos rojos, en vista de que han ganado en par de ocasiones y los de Londres en sólo una ocasión. Y en el historial completo, el Manchester United acumula en 56% de victorias sobre el Arsenal. Sin embargo, fueron los gunners quienes vencieron en la jornada 4 de ésta campaña.
ASTON VILLA vs. LIVERPOOL
ASTON VILLA fue sorprendido por las gaviotas en su nido durante la última jornada, en vista que fue vencido 1-0, interrumpiendo su racha positiva de cuatro partidos sin perder. No obstante, entre semana fue eliminado de la Conference League, privándolo de llegar a la excelentísima final. Por eso, necesitan sacudirse lo más pronto la tristeza y qué mejor forma que con una victoria en su estadio, frente a su afición, aunque por ahora no tiene que demostrarles nada a su público. Con un entrenador ganador que renovó su relación con el club por más tiempo y un equipo que volverá a la Champions League luego de tanto tiempo, el futuro parece brillante para los villanos. En casa han hecho las cosas muy bien, y acumulan un 67% de victorias, con un diferencial de goles de +20. Pero, el rival es el Liverpool.
LIVERPOOL ganó holgadamente al Tottenham y es su segundo partido seguido en el que no pierde. Parece que el peor enemigo del Liverpool es él mismo, debido a todo lo que tiene que enfrentar los próximos meses, agregándose ahora una posible división en el vestuario que afecta la fluidez de juego en el engramado. Por eso, cobra más fuerza las hipótesis de posibles salidas en el mercado de jugadores que parecen indispensables en ésta plantilla. ¿Se imaginan que a última hora Klopp decida renovar su contrato? Sería un giro inesperado en ésta novela. Por ahora, parece que su papel es ganar, para no agregar más leña al fuego y seguir confirmando que es uno de los mejor equipos ingleses éste año.
Los últimos 9 enfrentamientos en Villa Park han sido agónicos para los dueños de casa, en vista que sólo han ganado un partido y el resto son victoria para los de Merseyside. Eso sí, esa última victoria fue ese 7-2 que seguro muchos recuerdan.
EL JUGADOR
NICOLAS JACKSONha participado en cuatro goles en los últimos dos partidos, por lo que es parte de lo bueno que le está pasando al Chelsea en éste último tramo. Para lograr confirmar su presencia en competiciones europeas necesita ganar todo lo que queda de torneo, frente al Forest y Brighton. Así que ¡alguien tiene que hacer los goles! Y Jackson es uno de los comisionados por el entrenador para éste papel. Tal vez sea su juventud o falta de química con sus compañeros, pero muchas veces comete errores de cara al arco rival que podrían evitarse. Necesita mejorar su criterio para poder ayudar a las causas del club.

MANCHESTER CITY will catch up with their commitments. In a few minutes they will play against Fulham, in London, and then come to this match in the same city.
