Dicho esto, el jardinero venezolano Jackson Chourio parece haber estado a la altura de las expectativas luego de abrir desde el primer lugar del line-up de los Cerveceros de Milwaukee, el día siguiente de haber sido suspendido por lluvia el primer juego de la temporada ante los Mets de New York.
Y vaya que se comportó como todo un veterano. Esto es extremadamente raro de ver, al considerar que es el segundo jugador más joven en la historia en debutar como primer bate de un equipo en un día inaugural (20 años y 18 días). El tipo se paró en el plato en su primer turno y negoció una base por bolas (otra rareza porque la mayoría de los novatos suelen hacer swing). No esperó mucho para salir al robo de la segunda base y llegó a salvo, concretando la primera estafada de su carrera. Hay que jugar como todo un veterano primer bate para hacer algo así, en tu primer turno arriba.

Es muy emocionante ver a un pelotero tan joven haciendo cosas de veteranos. Nos recuerda a Ronald Acuña Jr. y su desparpajo. Los padres de Jackson miraban extasiados desde las gradas. Expectativas confirmadas.
Otro que arrancó a toda mecha 2024 fue el tercera base venezolano de los Yankees Oswaldo Cabrera. En su primer juego, bateó de 4-2 incluyendo un jonrón. Y ayer se fue de 5-4 con tres impulsadas, siendo la bujía del equipo desde el noveno turno de la alineación neoyorkina. Es increíble como cambió la situación del venezolano dentro del equipo. Eso se debió a una extraordinaria pretemporada y al parecer explotó todo el talento que siempre se supo tenía. Y vaya que es difícil ser protagonista en un equipo donde brilla Aaron Judge, Juan Soto y compañía. Gleyber Torres fue alcanzado por un bolazo en la mano y salió del juego. Los rayos X fueron negativos y lo tendrán en la lista día a día, aunque él declaró estar listo para jugar hoy.

Los D-backs de Arizona han desplegado una auténtica andanada de bateo. Ayer largaron 14 hits para apalear a los Rockies de Colorado 7-3, sumando 32 batazos a tierra de nadie en solo dos partidos. Un buen inicio de la MLB. De todos los enfrentamientos de este primer día me sorprende los dos triunfos de los Yankees sobre Houston, aunque sabemos que esto a penas comienza. Pero se puede confirmar lo que hace unos días nos comentó, que es posible que Houston está temporada rompa su racha de clasificar a la postemporada. Veremos cómo va avanzando la temporada 2024 de la gran carpa.
Wow ese contrato que mencionas de 82 millones de Dólares son haber jugado en las mayores, obvio que va a tener todas las miradas sobre dicho pelotero y más como primer bate. Un buen debut con el primer equipo, Los cerveceros de Milwaukee, un gran futuro para el joven venezolano.
