Continuando con el programa de recuperación de espacios deportivos iniciado por las autoridades municipales hace ya varias semanas le correspondió el turno al Campo Deportivo del Liceo Alberto Smith, un espacio que ha visto grandes campeonatos y torneos de fútbol en sus distintas categorías, llegó en su momento hasta albergar a la tercera división del balompié nacional en algunas oportunidades.
Destruido por la delincuencia y falta de interés de las comunidades aledañas, hoy día se le está brindando una nueva oportunidad de cuidar y mantener este espacio que, como dije antes es la sede principal del club Bravos de América del sector La Represa, una populosa barriada del centro de la ciudad.
Continuing with the program of recovery of sports spaces initiated by the municipal authorities several weeks ago, it was the turn of the sports field of the Alberto Smith High School, a space that has seen great championships and soccer tournaments in its various categories, even hosting the third division of national football on some occasions.
Destroyed by delinquency and lack of interest from the surrounding communities, today it is being given a new opportunity to care for and maintain this space which, as I said before, is the main headquarters of the Bravos de América club in the La Represa sector, a populous neighborhood in the center of the city.
Situación actual del Campo Deportivo Alberto Smith - Villa de Cura
El campo deportivo del Alberto Smith es un espacio llano de varias hectáreas de extensión ubicado detrás de la institución educativa que lleva su nombre y rodeado completamente por las comunidades de la Represa y la comunidad de San Cipriano respectivamente.
Cuenta con una tribuna principal techada y una en sus laterales sin techo para un aforo de poco más de 500 personas y se está estudiando la posibilidad de una ampliación dado el crecimiento exponencial del deporte local, en especial la disciplina del futbol que cuenta ya con más de 10 escuelas de la categoría.
Su estado actual no es el más óptimo, pero ya se iniciaron los planes para su recuperación, como se puede observar en las imágenes cortesía de IMDERZA.
# Current situation of the Alberto Smith Sports Field - Villa de Cura
The Alberto Smith sports field is a flat space of several hectares located behind the educational institution that bears his name and completely surrounded by the communities of La Represa and San Cipriano respectively.
It has a roofed main grandstand and one on its sides without roof for a capacity of just over 500 people and the possibility of an expansion is being studied given the exponential growth of local sports, especially the discipline of soccer, which already has more than 10 schools in the category.
Its current state is not the best, but plans for its recovery have already begun, as can be seen in the images courtesy of IMDERZA.
Participación de la localidad y autoridades municipales
La localidad se ha comprometido en participar de este rescate y restauración del campo deportivo por saber lo que significa para el desarrollo deportivo, la práctica de educación física del Liceo Alberto Smith y la sede del Club Bravos de América.
Herreros, soldadores y albañiles, jugadores, y estudiantes de la institución dijeron presente en conjunto con el equipo de aseo y mantenimiento de la alcaldía del municipio Zamora en conjunto con las autoridades de IMDERZA en la figura de la profesora Carlimer Rivero quien supervisa los avances en materia de recuperación del mencionado campo deportivo.
Participation of the local and municipal authorities
The locality has committed to participate in this rescue and restoration of the sports field because they know what it means for the sports development, the practice of physical education of the Alberto Smith High School and the headquarters of the Bravos de América Club.
Blacksmiths, welders and masons, players and students of the institution were present along with the team of cleanliness and maintenance of the Zamora municipality mayor's office together with the authorities of IMDERZA in the figure of Professor Carlimer Rivero who supervises the progress in the recovery of the mentioned sports field.
Eventos, campeonatos y torneos
De los espacios deportivos más importantes que tiene actualmente nuestro municipio el Campo Deportivo del Liceo Albert Smith es indudablemente uno de ellos, la cantidad de torneos, campeonatos y amistosos que se han celebrado en estos espacios se pierde de vista, es por ello que su recuperación es muy importante para el mantenimiento de la actividad deportiva local en relación con el creciente número de clubes que se vienen formando en las distintas parroquias del municipio.

Of the most important sporting venues that our municipality currently has the Albert Smith High School Sports Field is undoubtedly one of them, the number of tournaments, championships and friendly matches that have been held in these spaces is lost sight of, which is why its recovery is very important for the maintenance of local sports activity in relation to the growing number of clubs that have been forming in the various parishes of the municipality.

No puedo más que manifestar alegría y gratitud al ver este tipo de iniciativas que van en pro del rescate de las juventudes y de la promoción de las disciplinas deportivas más importantes de nuestras comunidades como lo son el fútbol, el futsal y muchos más.
Agradecido con IMDERZA en la figura de la docente de educación física Carlimer Rivero quien en conjunto con las autoridades municipales supervisa la obra que aún está en ejecución para pronto entregárselas a los habitantes de la Represa y autoridades educativas del plantel Alberto Smith con el compromiso de cuidarla y mantenerla operativa para todos los habitantes de Las zonas circunvecinas. I can only express joy and gratitude to see this type of initiatives that go towards the rescue of youth and the promotion of the most important sports disciplines of our communities such as soccer, futsal and many more.
Grateful to IMDERZA in the figure of the physical education teacher Carlimer Rivero who together with the municipal authorities supervises the work that is still in execution to soon deliver them to the inhabitants of the Dam and educational authorities of the Alberto Smith school with the commitment to take care of it and keep it operational for all the inhabitants of the surrounding areas. Esas son las buenas acciones que deben cumplir los organismos del Estado, es triste ver instalaciones como está y nadie le da un cariño.
