En el maravilloso mundo del fútbol, el aficionado a ese deporte espera que la lógica siempre se imponga; me refiero al que favorito, al llamado “grande”, siempre obtenga la victoria contra un rival que por alguna razón no está a su categoría, pero siempre he pensado que el fútbol es un deporte muy impredecible, cualquier cosa puede suceder y es por eso que cada cierto tiempo ocurre que en algún que otro encuentro termine con un resultado sorpresivo, un resultado que dependerá del nombre de algún club o selección que en ese juego sea el merecedor de una importante victoria; justamente todo lo antes escrito lo hago por el resultado de la primera semifinal de la DFB Pokal (Copa de Alemania) entre los clubes Arminia Bielefeld y Bayer Leverkusen, semifinal que terminó con la eliminación del campeón defensor contra un club de la tercera división del fútbol alemán.
In the wonderful world of football, the fan expects that logic always prevails; I mean that the favorite, the so-called "big one", always gets the victory against a rival that for some reason is not in its category, but I have always thought that soccer is a very unpredictable sport, anything can happen and that is why every so often happens that in some other game ends with a surprising result, a result that will depend on the name of a club or selection that in that game is the deserving of an important victory; I write all of the above because of the result of the first semifinal of the DFB Pokal (German Cup) between the clubs Arminia Bielefeld and Bayer Leverkusen, a semifinal that ended with the elimination of the defending champion against a club from the third division of German football.
El Arminia se ha dado a conocer en todo el mundo al obtener otra gran victoria en un torneo que a falta de disputar la gran final, ya es histórico para ese club; este equipo de tercera división ha recorrido un camino nada fácil para llegar a la final en dónde ha derrotado al Hannover de la segunda división y hasta cuatro clubes de primera división como son: Union Berlin, Freiburg, Berder Wremen y Bayer Leverkusen; justamente esa última victoria es lo que ofrece al aficionado al fútbol otro momento maravilloso en este deporte, un momento en donde la posibilidad hace presencia y genera gran esperanza en quienes creen que todo se puede lograr, en que existe los milagros, pero que esto son generados por el buen trabajo, por la convicción de que se puede aprovechar la posición de ser el menos favorito y dar la gran sorpresa a derrotar a quien se espera que obtenga siempre la victoria.
Ahora haciendo referencia a lo futbolístico entre Arminia y Leverkusen, sé que todo lo de mítica, milagro y sorpresa es algo hermoso, esperanzador y que captará la atención de muchos que no le dedican ni un minuto a la Bundesliga, pero repito, el trabajo y la convicción de este equipo fue fundamental porque estaban frente a una oportunidad única y esto lo digo por lo debilitado de su rival que está en un lugar muy alejado a lo que fue la anterior temporada de ensueño en dónde ganó los dos títulos locales y disputó una final de un torneo continental, a eso, sumo el no contar con su máxima estrella y que muchos de los protagonistas del éxito obtenido ya piensan en el final de la actual temporada para buscar un camino diferente; lo antes dicho es lo que considero fue un gran factor que diferenció la manera de competir de ambos clubes.

Now referring to the soccer between Arminia and Leverkusen, I know that everything mythical, miracle and surprise is something beautiful, hopeful and that will capture the attention of many who do not devote a minute to the Bundesliga, but I repeat, the work and conviction of this team was fundamental because they were in front of a unique opportunity and I say this because of the weakened rival that is in a very distant place from what was the previous dream season where they won the two local titles and played a final of a continental tournament, to that, I add the absence of its top star and that many of the protagonists of the success obtained are already thinking about the end of the current season to look for a different path; I consider this to be a major factor that differentiated the way in which both clubs competed.
Lo notorio del primer finalista de la DFB Poskal 25’, es la valentía para enfrentar al club que defendía el título; en el anterior párrafo hice referencia a lo que considero factores influyentes que ocasionaron la derrota al Leverkusen, pero es la valentía del club que ha cumplido el rol de local en la mayoría de sus encuentros en ese torneo, lo que les hizo superar a sus rivales, por ejemplo, en el primer tiempo el Arminia jugó usando el esquema 3-5-2, mismo esquema que usó el Bayer, la diferencia está en que el equipo de tercera división supo cómo, cuando y dónde atacar a su rival y aquí digo otro factor a favor de quién obtuvo la victoria, ese es la inteligencia; jugar por las bandas, aprovechar el poco compromiso defensivo de su rival, fue lo suficiente para crear ocasiones y anotar dos goles que llevo a ese club a disputar la final, pero no solamente fue eso, ya que al defender el resultado a favor, demostraron sacrificio defensivo al firmar con una línea de cinco defensores los cuales al estar compactos y ordenados, crearon frustración, desesperación a su rival; cada una de esas características es lo que impulsó a este equipo a la final a disputarse el próximo mes de mayo, final que sin ninguna duda veré porque necesito que está historia termine con la alegría plena de que un equipo de tercera división del fútbol alemán se proclame campeón de la copa de su país.
