La Fórmula 1 llega al trazado italiano para dar todo el potencial de sus monoplazas en la pista de Imola. Red Bull llega como favorito a este circuito italiano, la escudería de las bebidas energéticas tiene una ventaja de 109 puntos sobre el segundo mejor clasificado. Ferrari tendrá que defender su honor en casa con sus pilotos, la mala suerte ha sido la causante de todos los errores cometidos en pista y por el propio equipo. Están previstas 53 vueltas para este Gran Premio, los pilotos recorrerán una distancia de aproximadamente 306 km. Este legendario trazado ostenta el récord de velocidad de 372,6 kilómetros por hora establecido por el colombiano Juan Pablo Montoya en torno a la temporada 2005 a bordo de un McLaren. La vuelta más rápida la obtuvo el brasileño Rubens Barrichello a bordo de un Ferrari en 2004, una época en la que dominaban los motores V10. Es el final de Gran Premio más rápido de la historia de la Fórmula 1. En esta pista puede pasar cualquier cosa, cometer un error es extremadamente fácil, el equilibrio de los vehículos es primordial, ya que la poca carga aerodinámica hace que los coches tengan poco agarre al asfalto del circuito, los reglajes de las suspensiones son de vital importancia. La carrera será emocionante porque los pilotos punteros saldrán en su mayoría desde la parte trasera del circuito. Así que veremos a pilotos poco acostumbrados a salir desde la parte delantera de la parrilla, tendrán que defender sus posiciones a toda costa, pero no olvidemos que los pilotos penalizados vendrán con algunos componentes nuevos en sus unidades de potencia y en su defecto algunos con motores totalmente nuevos. Estos nuevos motores darán el mejor rendimiento en pista. Muchos equipos han optado por cambiar sus unidades en este Gran Premio porque los adelantamientos son fáciles en esta pista. En los demás circuitos de esta temporada será un poco más difícil. Las estrategias serán cruciales en este circuito, sólo podemos esperar y ver lo que ocurre este fin de semana.

The race will be exciting because the leading drivers will start mostly from the back of the circuit. So we will see drivers not used to start from the front of the grid, they will have to defend their positions at all costs, but let's not forget that the penalized drivers will come with some new components in their power units and failing that some with brand new engines. These new engines will give the best performance on track. Many teams have opted to change their units at this Grand Prix because overtaking is easy at this track.
