Yair Rodriguez tiene muchas habilidades en su repertorio, sin dudas un peleador muy impredecible, su rival puede esperar cualquier cosa, pero lo mejor son sus patadas, siempre ejerce mucho volumen a través de ellas, lo que nuevamente tendrá que utilizar, para mi será clave las patadas abajo, Ortega es un peleador muy duro, tendrá que mantener un poco la distancia y tomar ventaja de su estatura. Me preocupa un poco como esta su pies, se vio muy afectado en su último combate, también duro dos años sin luchar por daños, justamente en el pie y espero que este al 100% para este combate del sábado, porque recalco que debe usar mucho sus patadas para ganar.
Considero a Yair Rodríguez mejor striker que Ortega, pero no puede tener una distancia corta, si lo derriban la va pasar muy mal, por esa sencilla razón el jab tiene que estar muy presente, junto a su arma letal que son las patadas. No me cabe dudas que intentara muchas combinaciones, hacia abajo y arriba con sus piernas, por eso lo veo como un ninja, tiene una gran habilidad en ese aspecto, no veo otro luchador en la UFC, con mejores patadas que Rodríguez, aunque eso no va ser suficiente y la movilidad con golpes rectos a la distancia serán fundamentales.
Por ningún motivo debe descuidarse con los derribos, tiene que protegerse mucho de esto, porque si van al piso tiene una enorme desventaja, puede terminar finalizado y eso acabaría sus pretensiones de campeonato. Rodríguez es el número 3 del ranking, si gana este combate va disputar el titulo contra Volkanovski, parece que ya la propia compañía se lo comento y no puede perder esta gran oportunidad. Esta pelea será a 5 asaltos, pero su cardio no me preocupa, demostró en su último combate que tiene mucha bomba, podrá resistir nuevamente estos 5 round, aunque si debe manejar mejor los tiempos.
Contra Max Holloway lanzo muchísimas patadas, tanto que para el 5 asalto, prácticamente no se podía mover, tenia el pie hecho un jamón, porque obviamente también recibe daño al lanzar esos ataques y esta es la razón de manejar adecuadamente los tiempos. Decirle a un peleador que no tenga volumen, seria una total locura, pero con Rodríguez es un acierto, porque eso le afecta la movilidad y en los asaltos de campeonato que son los últimos, tiene que estar un poco mas fresco, porque si llega a perder movimiento, seguramente va perder. Mientras mantenga la batalla de pie, sus posibilidades serán grandes, con striking y patadas Rodríguez puede ganar.

Sencillamente Brian Ortega si quiere ganar, va tener que utilizar su grappling, tiene que si o si, llevar al suelo a Yair Rodríguez, realmente me resulta extraño que no busque hacerlo contra sus rivales, siempre se coloca a luchar de pie, luego si aparece el derribo intenta alguna sumisión, pero no es un hombre de buscarlo y se sabe que es un excelente peleador en el suelo. Ya cuenta con muchas sumisiones, puede rápidamente montar un guillotina, un triangulo, sus herramientas en el suelo son impresionantes y espero que contra Yair Rodríguez quiera ejecutarlos.
Ortega no tiene un mal striking, puede llevar un buen ritmo de batalla, pero no es su punto fuerte, aquí debe salir su inteligencia, poder explotar sus mejores oportunidades y ellas las va encontrar con derribos. Tomando en consideración que es mas pequeño, a parte tiene menos alcance, acortar siempre la distancia es importante, moverse lateralmente para romper la movilidad de su rival, no permitir que quiera establecer distancia, si no, tener todo un limite donde el pueda desplegar su talento, hacer daño con su derecha y luego buscando una sumisión en el suelo.
Me parece que Brian Ortega es mucho mas completo, puede lastimar a su rival arriba con boxeo, pero tiene el gran plus del suelo, por ello debe marcar el ritmo de la pelea, tiene que ser Ortega quien vaya hacia el frente, lo cual espero que ocurra, por lo menos siempre ha sido esa la tónica de sus combates, jamás veremos a Ortega yendo hacia atrás y en este combate no le conviene para nada hacer eso. Su cardio no es el mejor, ganar los primeros asaltos es fundamental, si llega con ventaja al 4to y 5to round, puede utilizar su piso para aguantar, no tanto para someter, pero si para seguir ganando puntos y tomar un respiro en caso de estar muy agotado.
Brian Ortega es el número 2 de la clasificación, ya tuvo dos oportunidades por el titulo, ambas las perdió, no estoy muy seguro si tendrá otra chance tan rápido, por dicha razón, le conviene a la UFC que Rodríguez sea el ganador, seria un mejor movimiento y un rival diferente para Volkanovski. La única diferencia seria si Ortega es muy dominante, si gana con gran margen a Yair Rodríguez, seguramente el publico va querer una revancha de Ortega contra el campeón y veremos nuevamente a este gran luchador en una disputa por el titulo. En las apuestas luce como favorito, no por mucho, pero si se espera que pueda ganar, todo por su gran habilidad en el suelo y yo también creo que debería ganar por su grappling.

Tengo altas expectativas con este combate, para mi es un duelo imperdible, los dos me gustan mucho como peleadores, jamás defraudan sus peleas, nunca se ha dicho que son aburridos, mas bien son de los mas entretenidos, por la forma tan arriesgada que buscan el enfrentamiento. De mi parte no veo un amplio favorito, pienso que va terminar por decisión en las tarjetas, va acabar todo a 5 asaltos, pero si va ser una dura batalla, siendo muy cerrada y con una victoria que podría ser polémica, esto lo comento porque en todas las peleas cerradas, ahora los fanáticos crean controversias y viendo esta lucha cerrada, puede que pase nuevamente lo mismo.
Mi ganador será Brian Ortega, deseo que gane Yair Rodríguez por verlo en una lucha por el titulo, pero Ortega me parece un luchador muy completo, a parte tiene gran asimilación de golpes, puede aguantar todo el ataque posible y su grappling es nivel elite. No creo que vaya dominar por completo, pero si el busca el combate en el suelo, si podría llegar hacerlo, solo tendría que derribar a Rodríguez constantemente y de allí ganar la pelea sin problemas. Ortega es un hombre mas grande, tiene mas fuerza que el mexicano Rodríguez y eso le otorga ventaja para buscar los derribos.
Mañana sera el gran pesaje, desenlace importante para ver la preparación de ambos, pero tomando en cuenta sus peleas anteriores, son grandes profesionales que llegan con una gran condición y por eso me atrevo a dar mi predicción mucho antes, tomando como ganador a Brian Ortega en un cartelera en donde todos esperaran con ansias esta gran batalla titular.
