SPREADING HIVE TO THE FACULTY OF DAANTABOGON NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL | First School-HIVE Orientation for 2024!

in Loving HIVE ❤last month

Oh, hi our Hive-loving Community! It’s been a while since we had our last School to school Orientation, and oh, How I long for this activity and union to happen again!😍

The first quarter of this year really pulled me to my chair to work and burn the midnight oil and be caught up in the outside world task which made me slow down on my blogging and sharing here the adventures and the everyday wonders in life. Nonetheless, this didn’t stop us from conducting orientation and sharing the beauty of Hive when we received an invitation from Daantabogon National High School expressing their interest and willingness to learn of Hive through our School Principal Maam Rica/ @richdreamer.

I was more than elated on our way going to the venue - the humble school of Daantabogon National High School. Wearing my OCD T-shirt (the price I got during our last Christmas Party), I felt the pride and the immense sense of belongingness of this wonderful Hive community. The long ride along the beautiful landscape of my town made me reminisce about the wonderful moments we shared, the vibe, and the beautiful people behind our previous successful Hive orientations. Haaayyst, Deja Vu.

Who’s attending?

If you have followed and read some of our Hive Orientations, most of them were held in public schools and were mostly attended by teachers. In our field, in which making narratives and accomplishment reports, and making a compilation of them has become an integral part of our job, HIVE has become a huge blessing too. If Before these documents just slept on our cabinets snuggled with expanded folders occasionally visited by the cockroaches (hehe), now they found their purpose and use as we are able to share a glimpse of our life as a public-school teacher in the blockchain. And with that, many teachers have been interested in joining Hive considering the rewards it comes with.

This month’s Hive Orientation participants are the eager beaver teachers of Daantabogon National High School and their student-teacher interns. We were surprised that the whole faculty with the support of their school head, Sir Wins were ready to delve into this new technology. I felt overwhelmed by the interest they showed that they really prepared a room for the orientation. And take note! They were sitting one set apart, far from distraction. Haha. Ready to discover the amazing world of Hive!

The whole orientation.

For our previous Hive Orientation, It was always sir @ybanezkim26 who thoroughly discussed the nitty-gritty of Hive and its ecosystem, @indayclara took charge of the OCD Onboarding, how to get curated and the essential Do’s and Don’ts of blogging and @intoybugoy was the one who skillfully navigated the PeakD Interface, while us teachers were for support and some additional info and testimonies of our experiences in Hive. This had been our routine every after orientation. Not until today.

I thought I’d be nervous about taking the lead for the whole orientation together with Ma’am @jobeliever considering the number of attendees. However, it turned out to be my inspired and happy Hiver-self who gleefully shared and educated my fellow teachers in my district. Disclaimer: Yes I am no expert, I admit, I too, have many things yet to discover in Hive but I believe that my over two years stay in Hive has equipped me with the essential things and knowledge enough to inspire others. But yes, I'm learning every day.

Everyone was all ears during the discussion, afraid to miss a single thing on the topic. Some of the teachers were even taking down notes. I love how hooked their attention was in every word we spoke about Hive. Their eyes were filled with excitement and amazement as they also discovered what Hive was.

I shared about the Basics of Hive, the OCD-Onboarding , how to blog and the Do’s and don’ts of Blogging in Hive while it was Maam @jobeliever who navigated the PeakD interface, the Hive communities, the HP and HBD and all other features of PeakD there is. We wrapped up the orientation with the question-and-answer portion. We started the orientation at 2:00 and finished it at 4:00.

Some realizations:
This month’s Hive orientation after our long month’s sleep of sharing and spreading Hive has brought me some realization. First, before, I thought the orientation was a mere sharing and inviting people to come to Hive but this time I came to realize that in every school we went to for the orientation I was unaware that I was also growing and building a community, a family, of like-minded people. And I just so missed them here. 😞 Second, that I will always remain humble and grateful to be part of Hive.🙏 Third, that I always look up to the people who introduced me to Hive. 💚Lastly, I look forward to more orientation and I am excited about the endless possibilities Hive will bring me.💃

It's unbelievable. I couldn't even imagine something like this back in Germany. It's every man for himself, hardly anyone shares, simply because sharing is the right thing to do. I'm glad that I can experience a different mentality here.

Makahappy na kaya na ninyo on your own! Keep it up!

sir Kim, gimingaw jd mi ninyu sa orientation.😔

I wish we could also do such kind of orientation here in our school.
