How Technology has improved blockchains

When people talk about blockchain, the first thing that comes to mind is Bitcoin. But the truth is, blockchain is way bigger than just Bitcoin or even cryptocurrency. Technology has really changed the way blockchains work, and it has made them better, faster and even safer. Looking back some years ago, blockchain was just a strange word that only few people understand. But today, thanks to technology growth, it has become something that is affecting our daily lives and even the way money move around.

One of the main ways technology has improved blockchains is speed. In the past, transactions on blockchains use to take a long time before they get confirmed. But now, with new upgrades like layer 2 solutions, transactions are becoming faster and cheaper. For example, think of how Ethereum was facing high gas fee problems before. Now with solutions like Polygon and others, people can send and receive tokens without paying too much or waiting too long. Technology made this possible.

Another improvement is security. The early days of blockchain had a lot of fear about hacking and scams. Even till now, scams still happen, but the technology has really improved to protect users better. With better coding, smart contracts auditing, multi-signature wallets and even stronger consensus methods like Proof of Stake, blockchains are now more safe than before. This security improvement has made more people trust blockchain and even invest their money in it.

Scalability is another area where technology has done a lot. In the beginning, blockchains couldn’t handle too many transactions at once. Bitcoin for example can only process few transactions per second, which is too small compared to banks like Visa that handle thousands every second. But with new technology, blockchains are learning to scale. Sharding, sidechains, rollups, these are all tech improvements helping blockchains to grow without breaking down.

Another way technology has helped blockchain is in adoption. Before, only computer experts could understand how to use blockchain. You needed to know a lot of coding or how to run a node. But now, technology has made everything simple. We now have easy wallets like Hive Keychain, Trust Wallet, Metamask, and even mobile apps where you can send crypto just like sending an SMS. This has brought more people into blockchain because they don’t have to be tech experts to use it.

Also, blockchain is no longer only about money. Technology has improved it to cover many areas like health, supply chain, gaming, art, and even voting. Look at NFTs for example, people now own digital art and sell it for real money, something that was impossible before. Even DeFi (Decentralized Finance) is another area where technology has turned blockchain into a full financial system that runs without banks.

For me personally, I see blockchain as one of the biggest gifts technology has given this generation. It is still growing, and everyday we are seeing new upgrades. The good thing is that communities like Hive are already making use of these improvements. We can now blog, earn, trade and build businesses directly on the blockchain without needing any middle man. That shows how much technology has improved things.

In conclusion, blockchain would not be where it is today without technology. From speed, to security, to scalability, and even adoption, every step forward has been possible because of constant tech upgrades. The future is still very bright because new ideas are coming out every day, and I believe blockchain will keep getting better.
