Before the sun was up, I was already busy transporting the merchandise and equipment needed for the event.

At the time, I only had 4 hours of sleep because I was tossing and turning, wondering if the event would be well-received. I had my fair share of worries because I set such a high standard for myself and this event.
As the first event in the country and, honestly, a pilot project to map out Hive’s interest, I hoped that it would go well and, most importantly, be well-received. We have a 5-month timeline for this event, and with such long preparation, Sunday was the main highlight.
The venue was Komunitas Coffee & Space, which has a small amphitheater-like setting. Since my home is an hour’s drive from the place, I got up early and prepped for it. On my way, I also picked up some of our volunteers. Basically, the people from @menulisid are called volunteers, and as much as I find that term quite interesting, let’s stick to that one, and that’s how they were addressed.
So, four people from @menulisid helped me with the event. Throughout this, they were responsible for different things such as graphic design, social media, connecting me with the event speaker, and another that helped me brainstorm and convey the messaging of HIVE so it fits into the audience.
We had meetings almost every Sunday to ensure an update on the event. I love working with them because they are so easy to work and collaborate with. It’s been a pleasure working with them, and since I am pretty straightforward and hate drama, I love that this wasn’t something I encountered with them. These team are pretty solid and was willing to find win-win solution for any challenges we encountered. Without them, this event won't be realized too.
Fun story: I learned my lesson not to stick the sticker on the booth by myself as it was bubbling. I should have sent it to the professional, but thankfully, the sticker can be fixed again :D So phew! I learned my lesson.

Before the participants were present, we assembled our portable booth, set up the chairs, and ensured that we had the snacks and water ready for the event. As you can see, this was our setup, and we have to make sure that it’s best for the people who attended but still has more space for us to move around.
I hadn’t had coffee then, so I was still sleepy and wasn’t so awake, but I tried my best when people started coming to the venue. I was the first to set the tone and introduce what Hive is within 2 minutes.
Among all the 30 people who came, they all knew about Bitcoin, and it was quite a breeze to explain what Hive is as they got the picture. It also introduced them to the fact that, unlike Bitcoin, Hive is unique on its own. I showed them some of how it works and the front pages of Hive before they were about to learn more about Journalism and inspiring talk about writing and the WHY we write.
The full report of this event will come out soon since I am still exhausted and ran out of energy. I got back by train because there were still some things I did. The train ride was long, and there were delays. I ended up sleeping for quite a while, and upon waking up, I didn’t even know where I put most things or what exactly happened, haha.
So please bear with me; I’ll update more as I am getting hold of my regular schedule and is done with my data analysis for this event. Not to mention, I was dealing with my dad being hospitalized just a few days before this event. It was definitely hectic!

The early bird catches the worm 😃 although with only 4 hours of sleep .... I'm still two more Muajjahaja how lazy I am 😅
Lessons that save lives haha, good thing the sticker was fixed and about what you say about the team I think a solid team is the key to success, fortunately in the team I am, I am the disaster haha but a faithful disaster 🙂 what is difficult when one establishes a team is when it is already established and someone leaves out of nowhere haha, it has happened to me but that helps to purify the team and unites bonds between those who remain, I hope everything goes well and everyone enjoys. ... and I want some of that food yum yum yum 😋
The fact that they already have an understanding of BTC makes things easier, I have had to explain cryptocurrencies and it is hard to make them understand the concept especially if they are older adults because of the digital concept, in my case I have little patience haha but the good thing is that I make myself understand because I love the mathematical foundation behind it, hive offers much more I think and in the process offers fun and new friends, in my case I am not many friends because my personality is more hermit hahaha, with the friends I have is already good, I do not want more haha 😵 but for those who have the characteristic to enjoy having more friends, I have noticed that is of much human value and entertains more 🤗
I don't jump into any projects without understanding the team & I am quite selective with people I work with. So, if by first impression, they don't pass my vibe check, I won't be working with them 😂 because it's not worth it working with people that doesn't share the same vision. I know we'd have disagreements but it would be better if the people can be reasoned with.
I wasn't able to try the snack but according to people that tried, it was pretty decent hehe 😆
Yes and they waste a lot of effort, when that happens and you notice it WoW is that you lose valuable time that won't come back.... 😵
To my girls who are my group when they scold me is for good and to forgive me I tell them "Love Meeeeeeeeee!!!....” hahaha and send them a baby pandita
Note: the baby pandita does not fail 😎

It looks like such a professional setup, and a great turn out as well!!
Hehehe, I hope it was well-received. My next homework is definitely retention 😄 and while the momentum is still there, it's time to do the extra work.
Congrats, Mac! Your attention to detail and fine organisational skills paid off, it all looked so professional and 'big-time'.
Cant believe you didn't try the snacks lol!
Looking forward to your full report and follow-up, I'm sure it was a great success and Hive owes you a huge thank-you :-)
Take care always and hope Dad is doing as well as he can :-)
😂 I wish I could try the snacks but somehow I got caught up talking and moving around that I forgot the snacks. I definitely owe Hive big thanks too since the upvoted generated from the updates made this event happen hehe
I am finally awake too and had my coffee, so I am gonna tackle one thing at a time. At around 3 Am today my dad was once again admitted to the Emergency room and it was hectic but thankfully, the medics sent him home after receiving some treatment. I am definitely sleep deprived and I wish I could get some more sleep.
Take care and I hope you'll have a wonderful week 😊
Well try and get as much rest as you can. Family first, Mac, and my best wishes to you all.
I think it's an exciting experience to meet people to tell them about hive and it seems you did really a great work, well done! ❤️
It's definitely exciting meeting new people and then telling them about HIVE. I am sure it's quite a bit for them to process at first but I am really hoping they get what Hive really is and I need more follow up so they'll be active around here 😄
ALL RIGHT!
Hehehe I am so glad it's over buttt I am coming home with even more homework :D
congratulations, the event looks fun. the merchandise is very cute
It was really fun and I hope I can organize more of this but we'll see if this prove to be useful. It's a long project to create one event hehe

Awesome event @macchiata The setup looks great, and it's fantastic to see so many people attending.🫶💕
it's definitely unexpected to see so many attending.
A great pilot plan, I hope it will be the first of many. The organization was immaculate. Congratulations.
Lovinghive ❤️
It took a while to organize this and we have to revise a lot of things too. There's more homework to me 😄
I hope this could give more exposure about hive and give benefit for the community !
Congratulations for the succesfull event !
Thank you, I just hope it was well-received
I will be looking forward to the next post on this wonderful event.
I really congratulate you for making the effort to promote the platform, new users are always welcome in this digital world. And they should know everything they need to know about it, for example: They will always be welcomed with open arms.
Definitely, we need more new users who'll stick around. There's still so many people who don't know about this place and I am happy to be a part of those who spread the awareness.
