Hello Everyone,
HivePowerUpDay or HivePUD is the first day of every month. You need to powerUp your hive to participate in this event. As usual, I will quote the all-knowing @thekittygirl who can explain power-up much better than me.
The PowerUp process is when we take liquid assets (HIVE, in this case) and stake it on-chain. In very simplistic terms, it's akin to buying stock, proving that you believe in the future of the chain. In return for the stake, those who PowerUp have a greater vote-value when they upvote posts (which, in turn, earn greater Curation Rewards), have more Resource Credits (RC) with which to transact with the blockchain and earn 'dividends' of HP awarded periodically over time. Feb came and went quickly, to welcome March, I have powered up 50 Hive.
With that 50 Hive powered up, I crossed the 300 mark.
It's been quite a journey. I still remember the day when I couldn't post for several hours cause of RC issue. From that day to 312 HP, I should be proud of that and I am. Could have done much better this past month but I can amend that this month.
Why Powering up is important?
More Hp means better upvote value for your friends as well as you.
As hive is staked based decentralised platform, more staked power means more influence on the platform like in governance.
Powered hive will give you more than 2% APR on your HP.
It feels good, especially seeing your account grow you feel that your work is not going to waste. 😁
Lastly, I want to thank the organizers for organizing this event every month. And to all those who make this event successful by doing their bits and powering up whatever they can. Every bit of hive powered up shows the trust people have in Hive. I am proud to be a hivian and will always be.

Wow, that is a huge milestone! Well done. I crossed the 100ʜᴩ mark in February and felt some elation at reaching that goal. Your 300ʜᴩ is definitely a great achievement, and shows your level of commitment.
This is something that I haven't experienced for a very long time. I went through that phase when I first came to the legacy social blockchain three years ago. When I re-joined this year, I was very fortunate to get a couple of decent delegations very early on, from our friends in

Yes, I feel like I am cheating at present, as most of my on-chain growth so far has mainly come from power-downs of my legacy accounts. Eventually I hope to see more stable growth of my account over the month, coming mainly from author rewards.
