Hello hive lovers, Hope you're enjoying your weekend. I'm here today to share this exciting activity I've been doing this past weeks.
I started on hive August 2021 , but during that time I don't even know that a social media feature of Hive exist. I been doing mostly gaming here on hive, until one day somebody introduced me from the gaming community about what else my Hive account can do. And from that day on my Hive journey I would say really started. I've been actively blogging for a year now, and I would say It's been fun . Aside from the rewards, I get to know many people and join many communities ,this made my Hive journey a lot interesting.
I've been wanting to create my own community here on hive too. I want to gather people with same interest that we can talk about all day. That would be fun ,right?. One day I was playing one of this P2E games here on Hive called Terracore, made some deals with other players about game stuff. One of them is @acidyo, well because of this I started following him and saw that he is very active on Hive. And because of this I come to know OCD , they are a community that supports new users that are starting their journey on hive. This is where a more amazing world opened up.
To cut the story short,I am now helping in onboarding new people on hive. It's a very fun and challenging task to do. Not many people know hive here in our country (Philippines ) specially in the northern regions. Hive is a very good place to be, so I made it my goal to introduce this amazing platform to my fellow Cordillerans here in the highlands of the Philippines.
At the beginning of 2024 ,late January I started talking to people I know that might want to try Hive and see what this platform has to offer. My goal is not just to onboard people but also to build a community that will show what our place is made of, our culture, our beautiful places and the people. Hive would be a very good platform to do that.
This weekend I conducted my first orientation about hive, I invited people that are just close to me. By doing this I can guide them more personally since this is a new thing to them. Retention is also a big problem for people who entered on Hive, so having people just around me will be convenient. And also like I said blogging on hive is just one reason I'm doing this, I also like to build a community not only on Hive but also in real life.
since were just a small group, I invited them to our house. It's nothing formal, it's like friends just having a watch party. I stated discussing things, I started by introducing Hive and it's social media features. We continued discussing further about the platform, I can see that they were very interested and I still did not mention the rewards, now that's a good start.
I'm happy that by doing this, I can see that I'm also learning new stuff. I'm not that much of a speaker . But during this orientation I was able to deliver all the things that I want to share them. I guess discussing on something you put a lot of time learning is a lot easier to share.
We continued on the discussion, I showed them how to navigate on our favorite my blogging site Peakd.com , I chose this because it's a more user friendly for new comers to start with. I also discussed the do's and don'ts in Hive, and things that you should to to have a successful journey here. For me interacting with other users and community is a big factor of success. I also gave emphasis that focusing in long term goals is a better way to start in this. By telling them to start with building reputation and a solid community we can at least say that they will do this looking at it as a long term thing that they can do. I started with this perspective to at least motivate them not with just rewards but also on how doing this can impact their life in the future.
I love it that as we tackle things, they were able to ask anything about the discussion. And I'm very happy I was able to answer all their queries. This is why I love doin it on a face to face, I can easily interact with them and also see their reactions on the topic.
We arrived a the point where we discussed rewards. This is a very crucial topic for me because based on experience may people are discouraged by this because they were not thoroughly informed on how this rewards worked. And as for us I'm very happy with their feedback.
The whole time we were discussing is so much fun, I get to share this new things and they were eager to learn. I can see this as a start of having a good community, it excite me on what the future has for us on our journey on Hive. This post will serve as a reminder on where we started, and hopefully we will be looking at this post and tell ourselves, "We did good ".

We need to get Mike Bustos here on hive. I have come across quite a few nature lovers on hive who are fans of his. I know he is in the Philippines but not sure of what city.
I don't really know him, but everyone is welcome here on hive. May this platform be known to others using other social media platforms.
