I must have written something similar before, but it's impossible not to notice that we're running into the same people, in the same communities, much more often than we used to. My perception of this isn't recent; although I had noticed it before, it had never lasted for so long. The price of HIVE really "disrupts" this ecosystem with a force that perhaps we have neglected - or even ignored - during other similar phases. The behavior of many users in response to this is cyclical, harmful and spreads like a "virus" with each new round. It’s like watching the same bad thing all over again.
On the one hand, it's quite inspiring to always see all the same faces, in the same communities, interacting and even writing / publishing new posts every day (because that shows there is a genuine understanding of what is being done within this project); on the other hand, the same cannot be said about the absence of so many other faces, who deliberately choose to no longer be part of this ecosystem out of pure self-interest (solely from a financial standpoint). How long will the VALUE of Hive remain overlooked in favor of the PRICE of HIVE itself? It's long past time to wake up.
Two sides of the same coin, and we need to face the fact that both must learn to coexist. Perhaps not always in moderation, but even so, we need to understand that both realities exist and that both are always benefited in some way. We all know this isn't fair, but that's the "price" we pay for the strong decentralization that exists here. Right and wrong go hand in hand, and it's up to us to choose a side. Directly or indirectly, we all end up "choosing" a side... Which, unfortunately, to be very honest, isn't always the right one. This is not a judgment; it is merely an observation.
It's not that difficult to choose the right side, but many users simply choose the most obvious option and even ignore the very effort it took to get here. We are all free to do whatever we want; however, a price must be paid, and that can affect all of us. The benefits of collective work cannot be undervalued, because they have an immeasurable impact (whether in the short, medium, or long term). Bridges need to be built, not destroyed. In the multiverse of the same faces, we're beginning to better understand who is truly here to make a difference in the plural sense of the idea.

Mi percepción sobre esto no es reciente; aunque ya lo había notado antes, nunca había perdurado durante tanto tiempo. El precio de HIVE realmente “desordena” este ecosistema con una fuerza que quizás hayamos descuidado - o incluso ignorado - en otras etapas similares. Si por un lado resulta bastante inspirador ver siempre las mismas caras, en las mismas comunidades, interactuando e incluso escribiendo / publicando nuevas publicaciones todos los días (porque eso demuestra que existe una comprensión real de lo que se hace dentro de este proyecto); por otro lado, no puede decirse lo mismo de la ausencia de tantas otras caras, que deliberadamente eligen dejar de formar parte de este ecosistema por puro interés (únicamente en el aspecto financiero). ¿Hasta cuándo el VALOR de Hive seguirá siendo desconocido en detrimento del PRECIO de HIVE en sí? Ya es hora de despertar.

This is what happens when a project/platform stagnates. I'm not saying that Hive is stagnant as such; I think it still offers many things and still has a lot of potential for more. However, as is the case with 99% of crypto projects today, they depend heavily on external influences from large investors in parallel markets.
It's no surprise that many people are leaving Hive due to falling prices and uncertainties in the current crypto market. The same thing happens with investors, who mostly get carried away by what people are saying or by the emerging and superficial popularity of a new project, and that's it. However, what Hive does have is a product that is stable and can be developed (something that the few who are still active here with us are doing).
However, what's the problem with this? Among so many developers who dedicate their free time to creating something on Hive, whether as a hobby or for something more, They do nothing more to bring their products to a larger target audience than the hundreds or thousands of followers they have on Hive. We live trapped in a bubble where we believe that developing a thousand things that are mostly copies of copies without doing anything else to promote or take those products to the next level is not enough. When push comes to shove, the product is abandoned due to lack of funding or support, lack of money, zero votes on a proposal, etc.
Ultimately, many developers are leading us to an uncertain future where there are many products with the potential to offer a huge audience, but without the resources or the team needed to to carry it out. There are also many other customs, habits, and even the occasional trauma of some veterans who have been here in Hive for years and who refuse to trust anyone new for fear of being disappointed again.
I chose to stay and continue here in Hive for myself, for my future, and for those who continue to support and accompany me even now here in Hive. I agree with everything you say, we must look beyond the numbers, the rewards and the votes we receive. But we also need to think about how we can make Hive a useful tool for creating something much bigger that will serve us in the future.

I started to notice it well over a year ago and it was disappointing. Most of the usual people I interacted with are largely gone from Hive and have been for a long time now.
But I greatly miss the early days where any post could result in a wave of new usernames appearing and thus new interactions.
Good times, which will probably never come back to us.
I don't see it happening either. I do think Hive is on its last legs. The realist in me sees it as much as it would be nice to see it return from its ashes. But the most important thing for Hive is its users, and that's dried up too much.
The other day Binance removed the USDC margin pair on Hive. Before that there was the BTC pairing that got delisted. Binance doesn't go removing such things unless it genuinely believes they're dead, and their volumes were incredibly low. Hive/USDC volmume as of today is JUST 8,000 USDC. There's no doubt the USDC pairing won't also go next now the margin is gone.
Hive/USDT volume is barely 100k USDT. And I guess we'll see what the future awaits if the USDT pairing next loses margin. Volume across crypto has dried up, and it seems institutions are more interested in chains that do generate some form of revenue now as it considers risk a bit more seriously. Basically, that means they're only really interested in BTC, ETH, and SOL right now. Everything else is largely just speculatory on the retail side. What's there to speculate on regarding Hive now? Drying up userbase, dapp development largely dead, and no chain revenue streams to incentivise interaction.
There's probably a million different things to be said about how we got here, but there's no point. It has all been said already. But truthfully I do consider this place largely dead at this point. I don't see it growing and flourishing again. I just like writing still sometimes and return for that.
The foundation that outlasts any market cycle is the people who consciously continue to build, engage, and contribute to the ecosystem. Hopefully, more people will come to appreciate that difference over time.
I still believe in that point of view, but it always seems to make more sense in theory than in practice. Unfortunately.
