Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa. I have decided to start up my Hobby Fund again and one of the things that might be really motivating for me as well as other bloggers and wargamers!
Can I use the rewards of my blogs about hobby stuff to buy more hobby stuff? The short answer is yes! I have bought a lot of models this year from this Hobby fund but it took a bit of a rest for a while.
How it Works!
So a regular post is paid out, 50% of the total value to the Curators. The remaining 50% goes to you the author! Half of that remainder gets paid out in HP and the other half as HBD. Hive-based dollars.
I plan on saving the HBD part of each reward for Hobby posts alone (like this one) and then stick them into Savings. I shall make a record of the HBD that I put into savings and interest earned this way will just go towards my savings, not the Fund.
So the Fund will be strictly from posting the hobby stuff!
How long will it take? I do not know!
Is it possible? Yes. I have raised more than that amount this year and bought a while lot of minis for that money.
I have no Imperial Knights... So it would just be really cool to have one!
Options!
I am rather annoyed at this fact but there are TWO Dominus class Knights and they are NOT in the same box as two different options!
There is actually a box for the Knight Castellan and a separate box for the Knight Valiant.
The Knight Valiant has a cool looking Harpoon on it:
And while it is stupendously powerful, it also only has a 18" range which is shocking.
Instead the Knight Castellan has got some heavy long range guns. None of them does as much instant damage as the Harpoon does, but you can start dishing out respectable amounts of damage at 72"!
Here we are with both variants side by side... so someone got both... I would love to have both eventually... But I think I shall work myself toward getting the Knight Castellan first!
The other Knights on the market (non Foregeworld) are the Questoris pattern Knights and the Armiger Knights.
There will be enough time to slowly make my way up the charts to getting the one Knight and who knows? By the time I get the first one then maybe I will see that I can go for the second one! Haha!
Imperial Knights is one of the Imperial Factions that I have no models for. The others are: Adeptus Custodes, Adepta Sororitas, Adeptus Mechanicus and some Space Marine factions (Blood Angels, Salamanders, White Scars, Iron Hands and Raven Guard).
So I shall make it my mission to focus on this one Knight first, perhaps some Questoris and Armiger Knights as well and then look at getting some Combat Patrols of my missing factions!
