There are 3D printers in the production room of the university I stay at this month. My supervisor kindly allowed me to use them .
I was interested in 3D printing but didn't know what to print and didn't try to use a 3D printer for quite a while. In between working on my project, gradually I learnt how to use it.
It was fun and at the same time I had to learn some so that the printer prints out an object well. It wasn't like 2D printing we do in our daily life; just click the print button, data is sent and output comes out in a few seconds. I had to adjust how the object is printed, temperature of the bed and the nozzle of the printer etc ...
After few times of failure, the printer started printing my bitcoin cookie cutter 🙌
Although the smell of the melting material is not very pleasant, I enjoyed listening to the unique sound and watching layers pile up.
It's not finished yet ... I had to remove the brim and polish some parts.
Overall it was really a fun experience and now I am thinking about buying one ... My daughter likes it and I want to make my sock knitting machine 😊

今月滞在している大学の工作室には3Dプリンターがあります。お世話になっている先生の好意で使わせてもらえることになりました。
3Dプリンターには興味があったのですが、何を印刷したらいいかわからず、何年もおもしろそうだなと思いつつ手を出さずにいました。せっかくの機会なのでプロジェクトの合間をに少しずつ使い方を覚えました。
というのもうまくプリントするには結構コツがあるのです。普段使っている2Dプリンターのようにプリントボタンを押せばデータが送られて、数秒で印刷されるわけではありません。時間がかかるのはもちろん、印刷の仕方、ベッドの温度、プリンターのノズルなどを調整する必要があり、てこずりました。
小さいものを印刷してコツをつかんで、何度か失敗を繰り返したあと、ビットコインのクッキーカッターの印刷が始まりました。
素材の溶ける匂いはあまりいい匂いではないものの、ユニークな音ともりもり積み上がっていくのはなんとも見ていて楽しいです。
出力が終わってもまだ完成ではありません。まわりのバリをとったり、磨いたりしてようやく完成です。
プリントが失敗するとしょんぼりしますが、とても楽しい経験で、家にも一台ほしいなと思い始めました。子供もとても気に入っていたのもあり。何を作ろうかと言うと、靴下編み機を作りたいのです 😊

3d printers are very interesting. I'd like to try one someday.
Good thing is that they are away more affordable than few years ago.
I remember I bought an expensive 2D color printer in 90s with my pocket money as a child. And now it comes to my daughter with 3D ;)
Oh yeah, cookie cutters, that's a great idea! I've never used a 3D printer, but I've watched them at trade fairs, doing some amazing stuff. Creating my own patterns seems very hard though - I'm barely able to draw in 2D 😹
Same for me. I didn't use it and it was the first time. And yes, I must learn how to use Blender. If you are a 2D person, a laser cutter might be your friend. It was my friend 11 years ago already.

3Dプリンター、前からちゃんとしたのが欲しいと思っていたら今朝楽天市場で見たら12980円のがありました。これは買いかも！と思いました。
私は以前、5000円くらいのペン型3Dプリンターを買ったら、フィラメントがつまって使えなかったという悔しい思い出があります。だからリベンジです！
とは言っても何も考えずに買ったら単なる衝動買いで終わってしまうので、今何を作るか考えているところです。最大で10cm立方体まで作れるので、小物を置く皿のようなものとか、コースターとか考えています。まあ私のことだから、単なる色鮮やかなぐにゃぐにゃの立体を作っても作品としてオッケー(笑)
安くなりましたよね。ペン型のもの、記憶にあります。買われたとは！作るものがあるといいモチベーションになりそうです。私はずっと何を作っていいかわからず手を出さずにいたのですが、靴下編み機がほしくて、調べたら3Dプリンタのデータを公開している人がいて、大学のもので小さいものをプリントしてみてはまりました。

私は数年前、コワーキングスペースを経営していた友人がシェアスペースに置いていた3Dプリンターを使わせてもらったことがあります。
その時は、数人で小型のランプシェードを作りました。懐かしい。
ぎっしり・しっかりのものを作るのと、ランプシェードの様な「透け感」のあるものを作るのとは設定がかなり違って
設定の繊細さやキャリブレーションのポイントも興味深かったです。
あれから悠に5年以上経過しているので、すごく進化しているんだろうなと思っています。
あいさんはやい！そうなんです、、ものによって微妙な調整や勘所みたいなものがありそうで、今もボタンひとつでサクッとプリントというわけではなさそうです。でもアイディアが3Dで形になる楽しさがたまらず、貯金して買っちゃおうかなと思い始めています。Blenderの練習もしないといけないのでハードル高いですが😅
面白そうです。やってみたいと思いつつ実際にやったことがないので、こうして見るだけでも楽しそうなのが伝わってきます。お子さんもこれは好きですね！
子どもも私も大はまりで、積層しているのをしばし眺めてしまいました。匂いと、あとプラスチックなのがちょっと気になるのですが、、、興味が上回ってしそうです。koto-artさんならきっと楽しめると思います。機会があったら是非！
