Last weekend, I held a Christmas-themed workshop in Chemnitz—one of this year’s European Capitals of Culture, and a city in the same state as where I live.
We made glowing origami stars, and personally, the moment the star lit up in the palm of my hand felt like stepping straight into the world of Final Fantasy, my young time most favorite RPG series. My excitement had been sky-high ever since the prototyping phase! For the final workshop version, I used beautiful high-quality paper from Marpa Jansen, and I was truly happy with the result 😊
The workshop was a big success—we even ran out of materials and had to close a bit earlier than planned. It was busy, but both my child and I enjoyed folding stars and stripping cables together with so many participants. I barely took any photos ... but I did manage to snap one of the Herrnhuter stars hanging from the venue ceiling. These iconic stars are made in a nearby town and looked absolutely stunning.
Here I preserve the pattern and instructions on the Hive blockchain 😊 Please feel free to try making it yourself! You can make the paper part only with regular paper and printer.

先週末、今年のヨーロッパ文化都市の一つで同じ州内にあるケムニッツで、クリスマスな雰囲気の折り紙の星を作るワークショップをしてきました。個人的には星が手の上に乗って、さらに光っているなんて、もうファイナルファンタジーの世界では！！！と試作中からテンション爆上がりでした。最終的にはドイツのMarpa Jansenの高級な紙を使ったのですが、大満足のできでした😊
ワークショップは大盛況で、材料がなくなってしまい、少し早めにクローズ。忙しいながら私も子供もたくさん参加してくれた方々と星を折ってケーブルをむいて楽しい時間を過ごしました。ばったばたで写真がありません 💦 かろうじて撮ったのは会場の天井から吊るされた近郊のHerrenhuterという街で作られている名物の星々で、これがまたきれいだったんです。
せっかくなのでHiveブロックチェーンに作り方と型紙を刻んでおこうと思います。よかったら折り紙部分だけでも試してみてくださいね！

筑波大学の三谷純先生の『曲線が美しい立体折り紙』に掲載されている五角形ボックスを参考にデザインしました。私のパターンはオープンソソースにするので、自由に使ってください。
