Change the Handle of Your Bag Step by Step [ENG-ESP]

in DIYHub2 months ago

I'm sure we've all had a beautiful bag at some point that we stopped using due to deterioration. This happened to me recently with a beautiful bag I bought. The handle is a chain that was originally gold, but lost its color and eventually turned bronze, which I personally don't like because it makes it look rusty. I looked for many ideas to restore it, until I went to a haberdashery in my city center and found something that was very helpful. I'll tell you what I used so you can do the same if you have a bag you want to rescue.

Materials

  • 1.50 cm of polypropylene tape

  • Scissors

  • Lighter

  • Tape measure

  • Needle and thread

Materiales

  • 1,50 cm de Cinta poly

  • Tijeras

  • Encendedor

  • Cinta métrica

  • Aguja e hilo

Process

First, I measured the chain that was the purse handle. I used that measurement as a guide, and it was the same measurement as my new handle. I also added 4 centimeters to make a fold when sewing. After cutting the polypropylene tape, I burned the ends to prevent fraying. Finally, I positioned them on each side of the bag and sewed them.

Proceso

This was the result, easy and simple. I liked this idea because it helps us repurpose old bags with details on the handles. I hope you liked it. See you next time!
