Greetings, friends. The other day, I shared a Caterpie figurine on my blog as part of a Pokémon figurine collection I am working on. Well, today I would like to share with you its evolution, Metapod.

Saludos amigos. El otro día compartí en mi blog una figurita de Caterpie, como parte de una colección de figuritas de Pokémon que estoy haciendo. Pues bien, hoy me gustaría compartir con ustedes su evolución, Metapod.

Step by step

The materials I used for this figurine were as follows:

Plasticine
Wire
Cardboard
Glue

Paso a paso

Los materiales que utilicé para esta figurita fueron los siguientes:

Plastilina

Alambre

Cartulina

Pegamento

I started by making the basic shape of Metapod, which is similar to a crescent moon with a huge nose, the only difference here being that I cut out the bottom part.

For the front, I cut out a flat pentagon, which I lengthened a little at the bottom and placed in position. Then I cut an even smaller rhombus and placed it at the top of the pentagon, as you can see in the image on the right below.

Comencé haciendo la forma base de Metapod, que es similar a una medialuna con una nariz enorme, la unica diferencia aquí es que la parte inferior la recorté.

Para la parte frontal recorté un pentágono plano, el cual alargué un poco en la parte inferior y lo coloqué en su lugar, luego corté un rombo aún más pequeño y lo coloqué en la punta superior del pentágono, tal como lo pueden ver en la imagen de la derecha, abajo.

After making these pieces, I cut out two more rhombuses from the modeling clay, as shown in the image on the left. Both pieces go on either side of the pentagon I showed you earlier. You can see the location of each piece in the image on the left. In addition, I placed a rectangle in the middle of both rhombuses, which I folded slightly in half.

Luego de hacer estas piezas recorté dos rombos más de plastilina, tal como se observa en la imagen de la izquierda. Ambas piezas van a los lados del pentágono que les mostré anteriormente. Pueden ver en la imagen de la izquierda la ubicación de cada pieza. Además, en medio de ambos rombos coloqué un rectángulo el cual doblé un poco a la mitad.

Metapod has a small tail, which I made in sections. I put three pieces of plasticine together and used them to make each section, three sections in total, one smaller than the other. I attached this tail to the body using a piece of wire and glue.

Metapod tiene una pequeña cola, la cual hice en secciones. Junté tres trocitos de plastilina y con esos tres trocitos hice cada sección, tres secciones en total, una más pequeña que otra. Esta cola la fijé en el cuerpo usando un trocito de alambre y pegamento.

Finally, I made the base. This is where I use cardboard, wire, and glue to create a base that will support Metapod so it can stand upright. It's simply a matter of sticking the figurine onto the wire with a little glue, and that's it.

Finalmente hice la base, aquí es donde uso la cartulina, alambre y pegamento para crear esta base que servirá de soporte para que Metapod pueda mantenerse erguido. Es simplemente clavar la figurita en el alambre con un poco de pegamento y listo.

The last thing I did was the eyes, which I made with two white circles and two even smaller black circles, which I placed right in the center. Finally, I cut a green circle in half and placed each half diagonally on top of the white circles.

Ya lo último que hice fueron los ojos, los cuales hice con dos círculos blancos, con dos círculos aún más pequeños pero de color negro, que coloqué justo en el centro. Finalmente corté a la mitad un circulo verde y cada mitad la coloqué en diagonal encima de los círculos blancos.

And that's how the figurine was finished. Below you can see a series of photographs of the final result:
