Greetings, friends. Welcome to a new post on my blog. It's been a while since I've shared a post with you, so I'm pleased to show you another piece of work, this time inspired by one of the blockchain games, Splinterlands.
This time, it's another snake. I had previously made another snake on my blog that looked similar to a king cobra, but more robust and threatening. Today I'm sharing another snake that's a little more unique, as this one is a fire snake, with a slightly simpler design but just as disturbing, because if a snake on its own is scary, imagine one with fire on its tail and around its back. Definitely a menacing beast.
The work took me relatively little time, but here you can see a reference image first:

Saludos amigos. Sean todos bienvenidos a una nueva publicación en mi blog. Hace días que no compartía algún post con ustedes, así que me resulta grato poder mostrarles otro trabajo, está vez inspirado en uno de los juegos de la blockchain, splinterlands.
En esta ocasión en otra serpientes. Anteriormente había hecho en mi blog otra serpiente con una apariencia similar a la de una cobra real, pero más robusta y amenazante. Hoy les comparto otra serpiente un poco más singular, pues está es una Serpiente de el fuego, una con un diseño un poco sencillo pero igual de inquietante ya que sí una serpiente por si sola da miedo, imagínate una que tenga fuego en la cola y alrededor del lomo. Sin duda una bestia amenazadora.
El trabajo me llevo relativamente poco tiempo, pero aquí pueden ver primero una imagen de referencia:

Looking at the reference image, you can see the work I did below. But that's not all, because I'd also like to show you everything I did to create this interesting snake. So, I invite you to join me as I walk you through this project step by step. Let's get started!
Vista la imagen de referencia, a continuación pueden apreciar el trabajo que hice. Pero eso no es todo, porque me gustaría mostrarles también todo lo que hice para lograr esta interesante serpiente. Por eso los invito a acompañarme en el paso a paso de este trabajo. ¡Vamos allá!
Step by step
The materials I used were as follows:
- Plasticine
- Wire
- Glue
- Cardboard
Well, just like when you made little snakes out of plasticine in kindergarten, here you also have to make a strip of plasticine, in this case red.
I decided to shape this piece into something similar to an “S.” After shaping it, I took a couple of pieces of wire and stuck them through different parts of this long strip of red plasticine to give strength to such a long body.

Los materiales que utilice fueron los siguientes:
- Plastilina
- Alambre
- Pegamento
- Cartulina
Bien, como si se tratase de hacer culebritas de esas que haces cuando empezaste a jugar con plastilina en el jardín de infancia, aquí también hay que hacer una tirita de plastilina, en este caso de color rojo.
La forma que decidí darle a esta pieza es una similar a la de una "S". Después de darle está forma tomé un par de trocitos de alambre y los atravesé en distintas partes de esta tirita larga de plastilina color rojo, para darle fuerza a tan largo cuerpo.
After this, continue with more modeling clay for what will be the snake's abdomen. Although it looks black, the modeling clay I used is actually blue, a very dark blue, but because of the contrast with the other colors, it's not entirely noticeable. But hey, if I say it's black, it's fine, but you know, the color I used is dark blue.
Well, with this color, I made a long, fairly flat strip, which I placed in front of the red piece I had made earlier.
Después de esto, continúe con más plastilina para lo que sería el abdomen de la serpiente. Aunque parece negra, en realidad la plastilina que usé es azúl, un azúl muy oscuro, solo que por el contraste con los otros colores no se aprecia del todo. Pero vamos, si digo que es de color negro no pasa nada, pero ya saben, es azúl oscuro el color que usé.
Pues bien, con este color hice una larga tira bastante aplastada, que coloque delante de la pieza roja que antes había hecho.
All of this is basically the body of the snake, except that a couple of details were still missing, such as the lines on its back and abdomen. The lines on its back, the red part, are more pronounced, so they are more noticeable; on the other hand, the lines on its abdomen are more subtle, so they are not as deep.
Todo esto es básicamente el cuerpo de la serpiente, con la salvedad de que le hacían falta aún par de detalles como las líneas que tiene en el lomo y en el abdomen. Las de lomo, la parte roja, son más pronunciadas, así que se notan más; por otra parte, las del abdomen son más sutiles, así que no son tan profundas.
Once the body is finished, continue with the head. It is a little smaller than the head of the other snake I showed you at the beginning of the post. The first thing I did was use the dark plasticine to create a fairly wide, open mouth, like that of any snake. With the help of the rounded tip of my knitting needle, I began to shape the jaw, making lines and separations.
Ya terminado el cuerpo, continúe con la cabeza. Está es un poco más pequeña que la cabeza de aquella otra serpiente que les mostré al comienzo del post. Lo primero que hice fue usar la plastilina oscura para crear una boca bastante amplia y abierta, como la de cualquier serpiente. Ya con ayuda de la punta redondeada de mi aguja de tejer comencé a darle forma a la mandíbula, haciendo unas líneas y separaciones.
With the same tip of the needle, I made the hole or socket where the eyes go, a pair of apple-green orbs.
Con la misma punta de la aguja hice el agujero o la cuenca en dónde van los ojos, un par de orbes de color verde manzana.
I also made the tongue, which is quite thick and a very dark purple color, a color that makes you think of something toxic. I also made the fangs, in this case yellow.
De igual manera le hice la lengua, una bastante gruesa y de un muy oscuro color morado, un color que invita a pensar en algo tóxico. Los colmillos también los hice, en este caso con color amarillo.
Finally, to honor the snake's name, I made some flames by mixing orange and yellow plasticine. That's how I got these interesting colors and a shape similar to a flame, which I spread along the character's spine.
Ya para finalizar, y hacer honor al nombre de la serpiente, hice unas llamaz mezclando plastilina de color naranja y color amarillo. Así fue como obtuve estos colores tan interesantes y una forma similar a la de una llamarada, la cual extendí a lo largo del lomo del personaje.
