Good morning hivers hope you all are doing well.
Here i made this straight gown with a side slitting.

Materials needed, lining, zip, Ankara fabric, Asoke, aiming gum, scissor, chalk, tape, and tread.

IMG_20250729_162538_049.jpg

started by cutting out my full length from the complete fabric, folding it by two and I also folded the second one and place on the first one and give out one point five inches allowance for zip.
Measure out my hand pit by eight inches, waist line, and the neck using my chalk to trace it out before cutting it.

Then I proceed to cut out the hand by ten inches.

IMG_20250729_164654_713.jpg

And I cut out lining for each part that is needed.
And I started by fixing my lining for both side, but for the back, after fixing the lining I proceed to fixed the zip and iron it.

And this is the front after the lining.

After fixing the lining now I move by fixing the Asoke one sided and sew it, and then I come down straight after I cut out the extra piece out and place the the other one at the other side and sew it, then I double press the middle and sew the the two edge.

This is how it looks.

And for the hand, I just placed the Asoke on it and sew it.

Now I proceed to join everything together, but at the process of joining, you measure sixteen inches from the top and mark it with your chalk, then from the sixteen inches, you measure six inches, and from the six inches you sew it down, and you measure from the down seventeen inches for the slitting.
And the six inches is the opening for the pocket.

Then you place the material for the pocket and sew the both side, after that you sew the top and down part of it down to the allowance, then you noch it for the fitting to be balance.

Now moving to the slitting which I will be using aiming gum for it.
You first iron it to be open, then you place your aiming gum inside and spring water on it and iron it to gum.

And now after all that here is the straight gown ready.
