A job that takes a while to complete equals more pay. I understand this. I think it's a good thing for the people who have skilled labour, for someone who is looking to find cheaper and short time labour then it seems difficult which can be sad.
Someone who isn't handy would probably have no option but to pay heavy to get this job done, but you've gotten it done lol and saved extra labour cost.
