Today I am excited to participate in a wonderful initiative proposed by our community: making crafts to benefit our beloved pets! I firmly believe that these types of projects not only strengthen the relationship between humans and animals, but also bring us moments of joy and creativity.
Hoy estoy emocionada de participar en una maravillosa iniciativa propuesta por nuestra comunidad: ¡realizar una manualidad en beneficio de nuestras queridas mascotas! Creo firmemente que este tipo de proyectos no solo fortalece la relación entre humanos y animales, sino que también nos brinda momentos de alegría y creatividad.
As many of you know, I have two adorable dogs: a large mixed breed named Queen, who is a little more aggressive and has a protective instinct, and Alaska, my little ball of cuteness who has stolen our hearts. While Queen is more reserved and doesn't let herself be pampered easily, Alaska is pure energy and affection, always ready to play and give kisses. She's the one I enjoy doing crafts with the most.
Como muchos de ustedes saben, tengo dos perras adorables: una mestiza grande llamada Queen, que es un poco más agresiva y tiene un instinto protector, y Alaska, mi pequeña bola de ternura que nos ha robado el corazón. Mientras Queen se muestra más reservada y no se deja consentir fácilmente, Alaska es pura energía y cariño, siempre lista para jugar y dar besitos. Es con ella con quien disfruto más haciendo manualidades.
A few months ago, I made Alaska a necklace that turned out spectacular, and if you want to see it, here's the link for inspiration. But today, I want to share with you how I made a bandana and a bow for my dear Alaska. I hope you like it and are inspired to try this project!
Hace unos meses, le hice a Alaska un collar que quedó espectacular, y si quieren verlo, aquí les dejo el link para que se inspiren. Pero hoy, quiero compartir con ustedes cómo hice una bandana y un lazo para mi querida Alaska. ¡Espero que les guste y que se animen a realizar este proyecto!
Materials needed:
- Fabric
- Ruler
- Hot glue
- One meter of tassels
Materiales necesarios:
- Tela
- Regla
- Silicón caliente
- Un metro de borlas corridas
Steps for making it:
- Prepare the fabric: I stretched the fabric and prepared it for cutting. Then I folded it into a triangle and cut it into 30 x 25 cm pieces.
Pasos para la elaboración:
- Preparar la tela: Estiré la tela y la preparé para cortar. Luego la doblé en forma de triángulo y la corté en medidas de 30 x 25 cm.
- Prevent fraying: Using a lighter, I went over each edge of the fabric triangle to prevent fraying. This trick is very useful!
- Evitar deshilachados: Con un encendedor, pasé por cada orilla del triángulo de tela para evitar que se deshilachara. ¡Este truco es muy útil!
- Decorate the bandana: Once the fabric was ready in the shape of a bandana or triangle, I used the silicone gun to glue the tassels in place, creating a charming decorative effect.
- Decorar la bandana: Una vez que la tela estaba lista en forma de bandana o triangulo, utilicé la pistola de silicón para pegar las borlas corridas, creando un efecto decorativo encantador.
- Create the bow: Finally, I made a bow and added tassels on the sides, along with a small ribbon tail to hold it in place. And that's how I created a simple but beautiful detail that elevates my dog's outfit!
- Crear el lazo: Finalmente, hice un lazo y le coloqué también borlas corridas a los lados, junto con una pequeña cola de liga para poder sujetarlo. ¡Y así obtuve un detalle sencillo pero hermoso que eleva el outfit de mi canina!
Although Alaska wasn't very willing to cooperate for the photos, I'm happy to share the images from this creative project with you. I hope it inspires you to participate in this initiative and create something special for your pets.
