Saludos amigos de Diyhub, es un gusto estar por acá para hacer mi participación en el 8th Contest Month of 2023 con el tema especial “GATOS”
Desde hace tiempo había deseado tener una alfombra en mi habitación para utilizarla después del baño y secar mis pies en ella, no me gusta sentir los pies mojados por mucho rato y que mejor que crear una linda alfombra con material de reciclaje, hecha con mis propias manos y con figura de gatito, acompáñame y te muestro el proceso para realizar esta linda y útil alfombra:

For a long time I had wanted to have a rug in my room to use after the bath and dry my feet on it, I don't like to feel my feet wet for a long time and what better way to create a beautiful rug with recycled material, made with my own hands and with a kitten figure, come with me and I will show you the process to make this beautiful and useful rug:
La tela de jeans es una tela resistente y duradera que se puede utilizar para una gran variedad de proyectos creativos, en mi hogar y para mi uso la he utilizado para hacer muchos proyectos entre ellos cojines, bolsos, tapizar sillas, entre otros y en esta ocasión se me ocurrió la idea de hacer una alfombra siguiendo la temática del concurso “GATOS”
Desde hace un tiempo he estado haciendo algunos trabajos en Jeans reciclado, para obtener algunos de estos he conseguido algunas ofertas en tiendas de segunda mano, también algunos de mis familiares me han obsequiado de esos que tienen guardados y que tienen años que ya no usan, para mi todo lo que pueda conseguir es maravilloso y asi contar con suficiente material para todos mis proyectos.
La creación de esta alfombra será perfecta y de mucha utilidad, la usare para secar mis pies al salir de la ducha, la colocaré junto a mi cama que es el lugar donde me siento para hacer mi rutina al vestirme luego del baño, la idea de hacerla con forma de gato me emociona y me encanta 😻

In my home and for my use I have used it to make many projects including cushions, bags, upholstering chairs, among others, and in this occasion I came up with the idea of making a rug following the theme of the contest "CATS"
For some time now I have been doing some work in recycled Jeans, to obtain some of these I have gotten some offers in second-hand stores, also some of my relatives have given me those that they have saved and that they have not used for years, For me, everything I can get is wonderful and thus have enough material for all my projects.
The creation of this rug will be perfect and very useful, I will use it to dry my feet when I get out of the shower, I will place it next to my bed, which is the place where I sit to do my routine when I get dressed after the bath, the idea of making it in the shape of a cat excites me and I love it 😻

- Para realizar esta alfombra se pueden utilizar muchos retazos de jeans, de todos los tonos que desees y variados tamaños desde los retazos más pequeños hasta los más grandes.
En mi caso de todos los trabajos que he realizado con esta tela tengo muchos sobrantes, trato de guardar todo lo que sobre y así darle utilidad a la hora de hacer nuevas creaciones
Para la figura principal necesitaremos un retazo grande todo va a depender del tamaño de la alfombra y si es posible de tela jeans que no sea strech

In my case, of all the work that I have done with this fabric, I have many leftovers, I try to save everything that is left over and thus give it utility when making new creations.

PASO A PASO
STEP BY STEP
PASO 1
STEP 1
Haremos el diseño que queremos dibujándolo en una hoja y así tener una idea de lo que queremos, puedes dibujar el patrón al tamaño que deseas la alfombra y asi evitar que te quede mal.
Buscaremos el retazo de jeans del tamaño que deseemos y luego dibujamos el gato sobre la tela, yo uní varios retazos de tela para lograr el tamaño deseado, esta será la base de mi alfombra, la tela que utilice no es strech y así tendrá más firmeza.
Al tener ya dibujado el gato cortaremos toda la silueta, también aparte corté las patas y en otro tono de Jeans corté una tira de 15cm de ancha para la base de la alfombra, allí le colocaré unas letras para decorar.
We will make the design that we want by drawing it on a sheet and thus having an idea of what we want, you can draw the pattern to the size that you want the rug to avoid that it looks bad on you.
We will look for the patch of jeans of the size that we want and then we draw the cat on the fabric, I joined several pieces of fabric to achieve the desired size, this will be the base of my rug, the fabric that I use is not stretch and thus it will have more firmness .
Having already drawn the cat we will cut the entire silhouette, I also cut the legs apart and in another tone of Jeans I cut a 15cm wide strip for the base of the carpet, there I will place some letters to decorate.

Con un retazo de Jeans del que utilice para la base hice las letras “MY ROOM” para colocar como decoración en mi alfombra.
Tome la medida necesaria para que me quedaran centradas, luego de cortarlas las cosi a la parte inferior de mi alfombra, le pase costura recta por toda la silueta de cada letra.
PASO 3
STEP 3
Cortaremos tiras de aproximadamente 4cm de ancho estás la cortaremos en flecos, para este paso podemos utilizar todos los sobrantes de jeans que tengamos de variados colores.
En este paso deseas renunciar jaja, no es fácil cortar todos los flecos y mas si no tienes una tijera adecuada para tus manos, yo utilizo una tierra escolar y mis pobres dedos quedaron adoloridos.

In this step you want to give up haha, it's not easy to cut all the fringes and even more if you don't have a suitable scissors for your hands, I use a school ground and my poor fingers were sore.

Comenzaremos a pegar los flecos en las patas, comencé a coser desde el centro haciendo un tipo de espiral, fui bordeando para darle la forma por toda la orilla de la patita, así hasta lograr las dos patas,
Al tenerlas listas uní con costuras a la pieza Principal, pasándole zig zag por toda la orilla en color blanco y lograr que así pueda destacarse cuando ya estén cosidos todos los flecos
We will begin to glue the fringes on the legs, I began to sew from the center making a type of spiral, I went edging to give it the shape along the entire edge of the leg, like this until I achieved the two legs,
When I had them ready, I sewed the main piece together, zig zagging it along the entire edge in white so that it could stand out when all the fringes were already sewn.
PASO 5
STEP 5
Con un retazos de tela negra hice la forma de la mitad de la oreja y la forma de la nariz, para luego coser a la cara de mi gato con costura de zig zag por todo el contorno y así ir dándole forma
Recorté dos círculos de aproximadamente 3 cm de diámetro en tela amarilla y cosi sobre tela negra dandole la forma de los ojos
With a piece of black fabric I made the shape of half the ear and the shape of the nose, and then sewed to the face of my cat with a zig zag seam all around the contour and thus give it shape.
I cut two circles of approximately 3 cm in diameter in yellow fabric and sewed on black fabric giving it the shape of the eyes
PASO 6
STEP 6
Comenzaré a pegar todos los flecos, trate de llevar la secuencia de colores de Jeans para que me quedara igual en ambos lados, este proceso no es nada sencillo ya que al pegar las primeras tiras de los flecos se te pueden enredar y causar un desastre 😂
A medida que sigues uniendo los demás flecos debes de tener mucha precaución de no coserlos o de qué no se atraviesen en el momento que estás pasando costura, es un poco complicado pero con paciencia se logrará coser bien.
Este proceso fue el más complicado me tomó varios días ya que se me cansaban las manos y los dedos al cortar todos los flecos y al irlos cosiendo hay momentos de desesperación que es mejor dejar a un lado la costura y descansar.
A medida que iba uniendo los flecos iba tomando fotografías, hubo un momento que pensé que mi alfombra en vez de gato parecía buho ja ja, igual seguí emocionada haciendo mi alfombra ya quería verla terminada y saber si tendría la forma de gatito que segun mis expectativas tendría.
I will start gluing all the fringes, I tried to follow the Jeans color sequence so that it would stay the same on both sides, this process is not easy at all since when gluing the first strips of fringes you can get tangled and cause a disaster 😂
As you continue to join the other fringes, you must be very careful not to sew them or that they do not get in the way when you are sewing, it is a bit complicated but with patience it will be possible to sew well.
This process was the most complicated, it took me several days since my hands and fingers got tired when cutting all the fringes and when sewing them there are moments of despair that it is better to put sewing aside and rest.
As I was joining the fringes I was taking pictures, there was a moment when I thought that my rug looked like an owl instead of a cat ha ha, I was still excited about making my rug and I wanted to see it finished and know if it would have the shape of a kitten according to my expectations would have.

Repase todas las costuras con zig zag para resaltar las karts que queremos en este caso los ojos, las patas, le hice nuevamente el contorno de la nariz y la boca para que se destacara y pudiera darle mejor forma.
Y así finalicé mi alfombra con forma de gatito hecha con Jeans reciclado, el resultado me encantó ahora adoro mi nueva alfombra de gatito, no fue sencillo el proceso pero valió la pena

And so I finished my kitten-shaped rug made with recycled Jeans, I loved the result now I adore my new kitten rug, the process was not easy but it was worth it
