Hello, dear friends of #Diyhub! Today I want to share with you the decoration of a hair clip inspired by a #Splinterlands card called Flame Monkey.
I was motivated by his figure and the fact that, despite having a lousy attack and bad vitality, he has a minimal cost. In addition, he has great speed in his gold card version. I wanted to decorate this buckle with sequins because I want to give it to an 11 year old girl who likes anything that sparkles and has quite a bit of frost.
Below, I will show you the materials I used and the step by step of how I went about making this craft.
Materials:
- Cream colored cotton fabric.
- Brown, orange and red sequins
- Movable eyes
- Buckle
- Liquid silicone
- Silicone stick
- Sheet of paper
- Pencil
- Ballpoint pen
- Scissors
¡Hola, queridos amigos de #Diyhub! Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la decoración de una hebilla para el cabello inspirada en una carta de #Splinterlands llamada Flame Monkey.
Me motivó su figura y el hecho de que, a pesar de tener un pésimo ataque y una mala vitalidad, cuenta con un coste mínimo. Además, tiene una gran velocidad en su versión de carta dorada. Quise decorar esta hebilla con lentejuelas porque se la quiero regalar a una niña de 11 años a la que le gusta todo lo que brilla y tiene bastante escarcha.
A continuación, les mostraré los materiales que utilicé y el paso a paso de cómo fui confeccionando esta manualidad.
Materiales:
- Tela de algodón de color crema
- Lentejuelas marrón, naranja y roja
- Ojitos móviles
- Hebilla
- Silicona líquida
- Barra de silicona
- Hoja de papel
- Lápiz
- Bolígrafo
- Tijeras
To start making my craft, the first thing I did was to draw on the sheet of paper the idea of how I was going to make the figure that I would place on the buckle. My idea was the monkey's face and an arm to hold the fireball.
Para comenzar a elaborar mi manualidad, lo primero que hice fue dibujar en la hoja de papel la idea de cómo iba a elaborar la figura que colocaré en la hebilla. Mi idea era la cara del mono y un brazo que sostuviera la bola de fuego.
Once the idea was finished, I transferred the image to the fabric.
Una vez que la idea estuvo terminada, transferí la imagen a la tela.
Then, I sewed all around the edge of the painting using small stitches with needle and thread, except at the bottom.
Después, cosí por todo el borde de la pintura dando puntadas pequeñas con aguja e hilo, excepto en la parte de abajo.
With the scissors I cut out the whole figure along the edge, always leaving a prudent space between the edge and the stitches.
Con las tijeras recorté toda la figura por el borde, siempre dejando un espacio prudencial entre el borde y las puntadas.
I turned the piece over very carefully.
Volteé la pieza con mucho cuidado.
With the scraps I had, I filled the figure very well, closing the lower end with a few stitches until the figure was well finished.
Con los retazos que tenía, rellené muy bien la figura, cerrando el extremo inferior con unas puntadas hasta dejar bien terminada la figura.
Having the piece ready, I began to glue the sequins with the liquid silicone, starting with the face with the orange sequins and combining them with the brown ones, then the arm and, finally, the ball that I would hold in my hand, with the red sequins.
Once the figure was finished, I glued the movable eyes.
Teniendo ya la pieza lista, comencé a pegar con la silicona líquida las lentejuelas, empezando por el rostro con las lentejuelas naranjas y combinándolas con las marrones, después el brazo y, por último, la bola que sostendría en la mano, con las lentejuelas rojas.
Una vez terminada la figura, le pegué los ojitos móviles.
With colored pens, I painted the mouth red and the two nose holes with the black pen.
Con bolígrafos de colores, pinté la boca de color rojo y los dos orificios de la nariz con el bolígrafo negro.
Now the part is completely ready.
Ahora sí, la pieza está completamente lista.
I glued the figure to the buckle using the silicone bar and that was it!
Pegué la figura a la hebilla utilizando la barra de silicona y ¡listo!
