Hello everyone ✨
Immediately after my last crochet project, my brother asked me to make him a key holder. I asked what exactly he wanted and after going back and forth, he couldn't settle for one thing. Ideally, I could make him key holders in all the motifs he mentioned but with how tight my schedule is at the moment, this wouldn't be possible.

The next day, he reminded me about the key holder and I made a mental note to create something different for him. Different because there are other crochet key holders at home and I wouldn't want keys getting mixed up.

Without further ado, let me take you through the simple process of making this beautiful heart-shaped crochet key holder.

Materials Needed
🤍: Yarn
🤍: 4.0mm hook
🤍: Cotton stuffing
🤍: Earning needle
🤍: A pair of scissors

Procedure
Start by making a magic circle, which is a more technical version of a regular magic knot, then make a chain of two.

Row One: Into the magic circle, make three treble crochet stitches, four double crochet stitches, one treble crochet stitch, four double crochet stitches and three more treble crochet stitches. Next, draw the string to close up the magic circle. To end the row, make a slip stitch into the magic circle.

Row Two: Into the chain two space on the first row, make one single crochet stitch to officially start the second row. Next, make three double crochet stitches each into the next three spaces. Then, make one double crochet stitch into the next four spaces. This should lead you to the apex of the heart. In the apex, make one double crochet stitch, one treble crochet stitch and another double crochet stitch. Afterward, mirror the first half of the row in an ascending order.

Once you reach the top, make a slip stitch and cut off your yarn. Proceed to make a replica of the heart by repeating rows one and two.

Once your heart shapes are ready, join them together using any stitch of your choice. I used single crochet stitches but you can use slip stitches or just get creative with your coupling.

Towards the top, stuff the heart with just the right amount of cotton. You don't want it being too loose or too turgid. After stuffing, complete the coupling.

Finally, make a chain of twenty stitches. You can choose to just attach the chain to the body of the heart without going back through the chain but I went back through the chain using slip stitches.

The last and final steps are to attach the chain to the body of the heart, cut off your yarn and sew in the loose strand.

Just on cue, my brother came into my work space once I finished with the key holder and he said he liked it. What do you think of this portable and simple crochet key holder? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
