Incase there's someone who doesn't know? Well the Bitcoin Halving event happened April 19 2024 and before the halving, splinterlands has embarked on a promotional offer to celebrate the event. I initially wrote about it in my post last week which can be found Here
The halving which will see Bitcoin miners reward being halved, and since the primary goal of the halving is to reduce circulation and minting thereby driving value to the price of the token based on economic law that states the lower the supply/circulation, the higher the price.
Well, we re not going to be dwelling on Bitcoin today as the focus is solely on the Baron's Bounty Event that is presently ongoing.
Like I explained in my previous post, the event is scheduled to hold for 15days and today is the 9th day, meaning there's still 6 days to take part and enjoy the numerous benefits of this event.
The event is planned to begin on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 (a few days before the Bitcoin halving is expected) when the game website comes out of its regularly scheduled Tuesday maintenance, The event is scheduled to run for 15 days and will allow players the opportunity to purchase two new limited-edition promo cards for DEC tokens or Credits with the option to reduce the price (by half, of course) using Vouchers!
I further explained the prizes and consolation offers you'd be getting when you take part in the event and I'd be highlighting them again below:
The prizes are in 2 categories:
- Leaderboard Prize and the
- Random Prize.
the Leaderboard price is easy to get as the more cards your purchase during the event period equals the more points accumulated thereby placing you on top of the leaderboard and also increasing your chances of winning the leaderboard prize as you will be on top of the board. On the other hand,
The random prize is achieved based on points you gather in the event, after the event has been concluded, winners will then be randomly selected.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
You would be needing DEC tokens before participating in the event, so it is advices to buy DEC on hive-engine and moving the token to your splinterlands account first before proceeding to the website and then buy the cards. Each card has Thier unique abilities but it's is important to note that:
Every card purchased will have a 4% chance of being Gold Foil, and players will be guaranteed to receive at least one Gold Foil version of the card for each 25 cards purchased in a single transaction. Please note that it will not be possible to split the cost for a single purchase between DEC and Credits.
Another important thing to note is that these cards can not be found in packs, they are sort of limited editions and can only be available on the internal market after the event has been concluded.

I explained earlier the Categories of the prizes which are: leaderboard and the random prize, asides these prizes, it is further explained that:
Additionally, players will earn points for each DEC/Credit spent purchasing the promo cards. Every 10,000 (10k) points earned by a player will give them a chance at winning one of the available prizes, and the players with the most points in total at the end of the event will win the guaranteed leaderboard prizes.
That been said, the event is already ongoing and it's the appropriate time to go ahead and make those purchases that will put you in the spot to win the prizes and also the cards are unique cards, more like limited editions.
Winners of random prize will likely be getting one or more of the following:
500 PLOT tokens, 100 Alpha packs, 250 Beta packs, 500 Untamed Packs, 50 Essence Orb Packs, 100 Azmare Dice Packs, 20 Runi NFTs
The prizes above is going to be distributed randomly like I said the other time, therefore, it is important to know that the leaderboard prize is the jackpot and you can position yourself with enough DEC tokens and stay on the leaderboard.
