Pre-writting stage.
Welcome back to Amzzy's lectures.
For each lecture I always like to give a recap for those that will join along the way to know and understand where am coming from; as not to be lost.
So you don't have to worry I got you covered with a recap of the previous lectures.
Recap.
We started with the art of writing,talked about the process of writting.
There are basically three stages of effective writting which I mentioned in my previous post which are:
Pre writing stage.
Writing stage
The post writting stage.
We started by discussing the pre writting stages by listing the steps it involves.
These steps are:
You determine the subject or the purpose of your writting
Consideration of your audience.
Continuation of the steps involved in pre writting stages.
After knowing your purpose or subject of writing, analysing your audience the next is:
Step 3.
Getting materials for your writing.
This is the third step in pre writting stage.
This is important because you can not write a good piece without having adequate information.
Hence in other not to misinform your readers or make work so tedious for you,you must take out time to source the materials for your information.
The material you gather as a source of information already depends on you purpose of writing as well as your audience analysis.
There are basically two sources of information
The primary source
The second source.
The primary source of information comes from personal experience, information gather from discussion or from observations.
The secondary sources includes material gotten from media,textbook and other documentary. This is why you must be an effective reader not just a passionate reader because the more you read,the more informed you become.
Step 4
Outlining.
The next step after sourcing of material is outlining the point of discuss.
This is a process of organising the material or information which you have sourced from many other places.
By doing so ,you structure your materials on how the school be written down.
Outlining of information or points helps you to be focused while writting and at the same time determine the outcome of your writing.
This outline written down may be adjusted in the actual writting as the process of outlining is not beyond alteration.
In my next LECTURE,we would be discuss the second stage of writting which is the ACTUAL WRITTING.
