An uncertain future is the worst thing one can deal with. It's what begets frustration, anxiety, and depression especially for someone like me, someone who has lived his whole life dreaming of greatness in a cynical world that is always armed to make you doubt your dreams and to lower them to something "attainable".

My worst fear is mediocrity. To be a person of minimal influence, a person who has settled for a medium salary, working in an average company. I just can't let myself ruin this one chance I get at existence by being like everyone else.
There are things I must accomplish, achievements that shall adorn my epitaph. This is what I want. This is what I live for.

Right now I am standing at a crossroad, I have no clue which gets me to where I want to be. Both paths have their advantages and risks. I Wouldn't want to look back to this moment sometime in the future and wish that I had chosen a different path.
The crossroads am currently standing in is detrimental to both my success and my existence. If at the end I don't get what I want, I really don't know what will become of me.
Being around atheist doesn't make the pain go away, rather it takes away my hope, my purpose, and it diminishes the meaning of my existence.
The only way I could bind myself to this life was instilling a sense of purpose through the grandest of goals to be a person of influence and power. I don't want to look forward to afterlife when I died, because I had the chance to use up my potential and die empty.
Like Da vinci said;
"Just as a well-filled day brings blessed sleep, so a well-employed life brings a blessed death."

And if this is my only chance of living, then I will be sure I'm gonna make it productive. And if things don't pan out the way I planned them. Then I will not clog the way for others who are more capable than me. I will let natural selection choose the fittest.
This just reminded me of the sermon i heard yesterday. He spoke on excellence. "Don't settle for mediocrity", he said, "whatever it is that you do, do it excellently. Do it with drive, with passion and with faith."
If i have come this far, dreams carved on my mind, purpose tattooed on my heart, i won't turn back now. Thank you so much for sharing.
We settling for less means we are yet to start, it means we don't have a purpose yet, and it also we can't get to that height we hope to get to...

I watched this video where this person was talking about her dad and she went on to say that as a child, every day she and her brother came back from school, her father would ask
"So, what did you fail in today?" And if they did not have an answer, he'd encourage them to try something new the next.
And that today, she and her brother would try anything and keep going with no bad feelings if something they tried did not succeed. But that there were many things they did succeed in.
And I loved the idea of not making it taboo to fail. And because you are not afraid to fail, it takes away that negative energy. To be okay with failure as it is part of life.
