I like that you added genuinely. I have observed that people ask this question to fulfil all righteousness. They don't wait for your answer, they don't even hear it.
As a result, most times we unconsciously reply "I am fine" even when we are not.
We really need to do better.
A lot of familiarity has gone into that question so people ask it light-heartedly without deeply wanting to know the answer. More like to fulfil all righteousness. We need to do better, no doubt. Thank you very much.
