আজ বিশ্ব পরিবেশ দিবস, পৃথিবীর সকল দেশের ন্যায় আমাদের বাংলাদেশেও এই দিবসটি বিশেষ মর্যাদা দিয়ে পালন করা হয়। প্রতি বছর জুন মাসের ৫ তারিকে ভিন্ন ভিন্ন প্রতিপাদ্য নিয়ে দিবসটি পালন করা হয়। আসলে আমাদের অবস্থান এবং পরিবেশগত দিক থেকে দিবসটি আমাদের জন্য খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। কারন পরিবেশ যতো খারাপের দিকে যাবে, আমাদের অবস্থানও ততো বেশী খারাপ হবে। ভূ-অবস্থানগত দিকে থেকে আমরা খুব ভালো অবস্থানে নেই।
Today is World Environment Day, like all other countries in the world, this day is celebrated with special dignity in Bangladesh. Every year on the 5th of June, different themes are celebrated. In fact, the day is very important for us in terms of our location and environment. Because the worse the environment, the worse our position will be. We are not in a very good position geographically.
এক সময় পৃথিবীটা অনেক সবুজ ছিলো, তার সাথে অনেক সুন্দর ও নির্মল ছিলো। হয়তো আমাদের চিন্তা-ভাবনা এতো উন্নত ছিলো না, হয়তো আমাদের অবস্থান এতো আধুনিক ছিলো না। কিন্তু মানুষের মনে শান্তি ছিলো, পরিবেশটা স্বচ্ছ ছিলো, ছিলো পরস্পরের মাঝে সু-সম্পর্ক, একটা মজবুত সামাজিক বন্ধন ছিলো সকলের মাঝে। পরিবেশ ও জলবায়ুর অবস্থানও ভালো ছিলো। চারপাশের সবুজ প্রকৃতি, সবুজ বনাঞ্চল, জৈব বৈচিত্রে ছিলো সঠিক ভারসাম্য। যার সুন্দর প্রভাব ছিলো সকলের জীবনের মাঝে। কারন পরিবেশ এবং আমাদের জীবন ব্যবস্থা একে অন্যের সাথে গভীরভাবে জড়িত।
At one time the world was very green, with it was very beautiful and pure. Maybe our thinking was not so advanced, maybe our position was not so modern. But people had peace of mind, the environment was transparent, there were good relations with each other, there was a strong social bond between all. The environment and climate conditions were also good. The surrounding green nature, green forests, biodiversity had the right balance. This had a beautiful effect on everyone’s life. Because the environment and our way of life are deeply intertwined.
প্রকৃতির সজীবতা, নির্মলতা
প্রশান্তি দেয় হৃদয়ে,
চাঞ্চল্য ফিরে আসে
পৃথিবীর চারিপাশের পরিবেশে।
আধুনিক প্রযুক্তির যন্ত্র সমূহ
হয়তো চমকপ্রদ করে,
হয়তো রঙীন হয় মুহুর্তগুলো,
বিলাসিতা এনে দেয় জীবনে।
কিন্তু অতৃপ্ত হৃদয়ে
তৃষ্ণা রয়ে যায় গভীরে,
পূর্ণতা পায় জীবনের সবই
সবুজ প্রকৃতির মাঝে।
আমি বিলাসিত জীবনে নয়
প্রশান্তি খুঁজি সবুজের মাঝে,
কারন সবুজ-নির্মল প্রকৃতি
নিরাপদ রাখে জীবন ও পৃথিবী।
The liveliness, the purity of nature
Gives peace to the heart,
The excitement returns
In the environment around the earth.
Instruments of modern technology
Maybe surprisingly,
Maybe the moments are colorful,
Brings luxury to life.
But in an unsatisfied heart
The thirst remains deep,
Everything in life gets perfection
In the middle of green nature.
I am not in a luxurious life
Find peace in the green,
Because of the green-pure nature
Keeps life and the world safe.
কিন্তু সমস্যা বড়তে শুরু করলো, যখন আমাদের চিন্তা ভাবনার মাঝে পরিবর্তন আসলো, আমাদের উন্নত হওয়ার বাসনা বৃদ্ধি পেতে থাকলো, আমাদের মাঝে বড় হওয়ার এবং শক্তিশালি হওয়ার আগ্রহ বাড়লো তখন থেকে। আমরা সব কিছু নিয়ন্ত্রণ করার জন্য নিজেদের প্রস্তুত করার ক্ষেত্রে পরিবেশের উপর চাপবৃদ্ধি শুরু করলাম, নানাভাবে সবুজ প্রকৃতি নষ্ট করতে লাগলাম। আমরা যতো আধুনিক হওয়ার চেষ্টা যতো বৃদ্ধি করলাম, প্রকৃতি তার সাভাবিক রূপ ততো দ্রুত হারাতে শুরু করলো। জৈব বৈচিত্র নষ্ট হতে শুরু করলো, আমাদের চেষ্টা ফলে বিষাক্তের ছোঁয়া চারদিকে ছড়িয়ে পরলো। নষ্ট হতে শুরু হলো প্রকৃতি ও তার ভারসাম্য।
But the problem began to grow, when our thinking changed, our desire to improve grew, and our desire to grow and become stronger grew. We started putting pressure on the environment to prepare ourselves to control everything, destroying green nature in many ways. The more we tried to be modern, the faster nature began to lose its natural form. Biodiversity began to decline, and as a result of our efforts, toxins spread around. Nature and its balance began to deteriorate.
আমি জানি আজ প্রতিটি মানুষ আধুনিক চমকপ্রদ যন্ত্রের ব্যবহারে নিজেদের মুগ্ধ করার চেষ্টা করছেন, যান্ত্রিক জীবনের বিলাসিতার সুযোগ খুঁজছেন, কিন্তু ভুলে যাচ্ছেন যে, সবুজ প্রকৃতি, জৈব বৈচিত্রের ভারসাম্য, নির্মল পরিবেশ এগুলো ছাড়া আমাদের অবস্থান খুবই ভঙ্গুর এবং অনিরাপদ। হ্যা, আমাদের উন্নতি দরকার, অবস্থার পরিবর্তন জরুরী। কিন্তু তা পরিবেশ এবং প্রকৃতিকে নষ্ট করে নয়। জৈব বৈচিত্রের সাভাবিক অবস্থান নিশ্চিত রাখতে হবে, প্রকৃতিকে সুন্দর রাখতে হবে। যদি প্রকৃতির সুন্দর ও সুষ্ঠু থাকে, যদিও জৈব বৈচিত্রের মাঝে ভারসাম্য ঠিক থাকে, তবে আমরা যেমন নিরাপদ থাকবো, আমাদের পৃথিবীর অবস্থানও নিরাপদ হবে।
I know that every human being today is trying to impress themselves with the use of modern gadgets, looking for the luxury of mechanical life, but forgetting that without green nature, balance of biodiversity, clean environment, our position is very fragile and insecure. Yes, we need improvement, change is urgent. But it does not ruin the environment and nature. The natural location of biodiversity must be ensured, nature must be kept beautiful. If nature is beautiful and fair, even if the balance between biodiversity is right, then just as we will be safe, so will the position of our earth be safe.
জাগরিত হোক সঠিক চেতনা আমাদের হৃদয়ে, আমাদের চিন্তাধারায় সবুজতা ফিরে আসুক, পরিবেশটা আবার নির্মল হয়ে উঠুক। আজকের এই দিনে, পরিবেশ দিবসের স্লোগানের সাথে এটাই আমার কামনা।
May the right consciousness be awakened in our hearts, may greenness return to our thoughts, may the environment be cleansed again. On this day, this is my wish with the dialogue of Environment Day.

আমার আব্বু খুব পরিবেশ প্রিয় মানুষ সে তার জীবনের ৪০ টা বছর দিসে এইই পরিবেশ এর পিছনে। জব এর ৪০ বছর সে সামাজিক বনায়ন, বন্যপ্রাণী সংরক্ষণ এগুলোতে সময় দিয়েছে। আজকে আমি তাকে নিয়ে অনেক গর্ব করি যে সে দেশ এর জন্য যেটা করেছে সেটা অনেকেই এখন করেনা। অনেক কষ্টে বাংলা লিখলাম।
সত্যি আপনি বিষয়টা নিয়ে গর্বিত হওয়ার সুযোগ পেয়েছেন, কারন আপনার পিতা তার জীবনের মূল্যবান সময়গুলো সঠিক কাজে এবং সবুজ প্রকৃতি ও বনায়ন রক্ষায় চেষ্টা করেছেন। আমাদের সমাজের প্রতিটি মানুষ যদি এইভাবে চেষ্টা করতো, তবে পৃথিবীর চেহারা সত্যি বদলে যেতো!
ভাইয়া আপনার ব্লগটি পড়ে অনেক ভালো লাগলো। প্রকৃতির সবদিক থেকেই আমাদের সচেতন হওয়া দরকার। আপনি হয়তো শুনেছেন সম্প্রতি ভারতের হাতি হত্যার ঘটনাটি। অনেক দুঃখজনক বিষয়। আমাদের পশু-পাখি গাছ-পালা সব প্রতি ভালবাসতে হবে। তবে প্রকৃতি আমাদের তার আসোল ভালবাসা দিবে। ধন্যবাদ
এটাই জ্বলন্ত প্রমান, আমরা প্রকৃতি এবং জৈব বৈচিত্র রক্ষায় কতোটা সচেতন। সত্যি আমরা চেতনা দিন দিন নষ্ট হয়ে যাচ্ছে, আমরা আমাদের বিবেককে হারিয়ে ফেলছি, যার কারনে এহেন কাজে আমাদের নূন্যতম কষ্টবোধ হয় না।
