Does everyone remember the youngest boy to be executed in the United States in the twentieth century? Let me remind you a little bit. George Stinney Jr., 14, was charged in 1944 with the murder of two girls, aged 8 and 11, in South Carolina. An African-American boy named was sentenced to death. Sitting in an electric chair, yes, you heard right. One of the worst executions in history was the execution through this electric chair.Sitting in the electric chair, yes, you heard right. One of the worst executions in history was the execution through this electric chair. On June 16 of that year, 5360 volts of electricity was inserted into George's head! (Sixty years after the incident, a South Carolina judge acquits George. In fact, being an African-American, George was killed in a conspiracy.) The incident is very similar to the movie "The Green Mile". The message that is given is completely different. This Film is exceptional from the others documentary film.

Spoiler Alert

The story begins at the present time when Paul Edgecomb, a retired prison head guard, begins to talk about a historical event in his career, how an event became the last day of his career as a prison guard. The incident happened in 1932. Paul was a prison guard. Was originally for prisoners on death row, who were executed by sitting in electric chairs. One day a special prisoner comes to this jail. There was no way to understand that he had killed two young girls. The man's name was John Coffey, and it was from here that Paul became acquainted with this particular prisoner.

Personal Opinion:

The movie is very beautiful as a prison-drama. The movie subtly shows the human soul through the character of John Coffey, how a man from the outside can actually be just the opposite. The acting of Tom Hanks and Micheal Duncan in the whole movie was extraordinary. However, the running time of the movie is a little longer, the story is not so big but more than 3 hours. The real message of the movie can be found from the most painful aspect of the movie. That is why I like the ending the most.Overall this is a nice drama movie i'm sure it won't spoil your expensive time.

Some iconic dialogue of this movie:

"We each owe a death - there are no exceptions - but, oh God, sometimes the Green Mile seems so long."

" I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world every day. There's much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head."
