Hello @bdcommunity members, how are you? After a long time, I have written about this contest in the bdcommunity. I am very happy again to find this contest in the hive while my friends were talking about the contest. I quickly went in search of the contest and found it. So wonderful again to write this contest.

My first gratitude goes to the organizer of this contest because it took me back to my basic school memories when everything I knew was food and nothing else. Thank you so much for organizing it.

The reason I want to share this book I read in basic school was because I started learning how to read the English language from this book. Most of the words in the book are 2-5 letter words.
It is a book that teaches discipline, respect, friendship, dedication, consistency, resilience, collaboration and many more.

Like I said, I used this book to perfect my reading skills. This was a book I could read chapter one without looking at the book when I was in school. When my class teacher read it, we pupils also read after her; we all read together like a chorus and this made me memorize some chapters of the book.
It not only perfected my reading skills but also writing skills; I was able to write most of the words in the book down.

Let's talk about the book Agbo Go To School
I read the book when I was in basic 4 some years back.
Agbo lives in the town lagoon, near Ibadan: on the faithful day, Agbo slept off and woke up by 7:30am, he jumped off from the bed, took his towel and ran to bathroom,
This part of the book taught me how to be punctual in everything I do. There is a part of the book that said, ‘one day Agbo woke up very late, he woke up at 7:30am, jumped off from the bed, ran to the bathroom: he dressed up, combed his hair and put on his shoes. Before he finished dressing up, it was 7:45am. Agbo's mother came to him to remind him of breakfast. Agbo did not eat his food that day before going to school. Her mother thought maybe the watch that his father gave him had stopped working because Agbo set the alarm to 6:00am. Agbo replied, ‘no ma, I woke up late’. This part of the book caught my attention because I always like to go to school earlier.

This part of the book helped me through my career, because I had cultivated the habit of punctuality through the book of Agbo when I was in basic school. Even when I was working far away from my house, I made sure I woke up as early as 5;00am to beat the traffic and resume work before 7:00am.
According to the book, Agbo has to trek for 2 hours before reaching the school, and yet he isn't late to the school. I learned resilience and endurance in this part. I could imagine a boy at his age walking for long hours and yet consistently doing it.
Highly motivated book: in the first chapter of the book said, “Agbo was 8 years old while he was in basic 4 when he was in basic 4, and he was the most intelligent boy in the whole class”. This part motivated me to be very intelligent and smarter than other pupils in the class: reading my notebooks and textbooks with the aim of being like Agbo but I couldn't because there are many pupils in my class who are more intelligent than me. I was motivated to the extent I read my books daily to make sure I achieved what Agbo achieved while he was in basic 4. I did not take first in the class but sporadic change of position from 20th to 5th.

Agbo was very friendly: Agbo made friends with everyone in the school, which made most of the pupils love him. Agbo doesn't fight with anyone; he is very gentle and cool. He’s a happy one and also makes others happy.

Agbo pays attention to his parents: Agbo never disrespects any of his parents, does whatever assignment given to him by his parents.
In conclusion, there is a wise saying that says, “when I look back, I am so impressed again with the life-giving power of literature. I were a young person today, trying to gain a sense of myself in the world, I would do that again by reading, just as i did when I was young.”- Maya
Book is a guidance, councilor and motivator that will guide your steps. It shaped my behavior and mindset toward a good life and success. I am where I am today with the help of many books I read in the past. Hence, it is possible to look like the book you have read if you do what is inside.

I would like to tag @crystalhive in this contest.
Thank you for this opportunity.

This book really shaped you up to be a better person. Nice article

thanks my friend

I read this book. It was in a textbook we used in primary 4. Agbo lives in the town of lagoon which is not far from Ibadan. The book showed Agbo Jumped from the bed. He went to school with the new wristwatch his rich parent bought for him. Nice piece.
