Hey MoonKarts racers and enthusiasts—what’s up? Strap in, because today we’re taking a close look at Card Rarities & Merging in MoonKarts—a system that’s deceptively simple but absolutely vital if you want to stay competitive.
The Hierarchy: Card Rarities
Every card you wield in MoonKarts is classified into one of four rarities: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary.
Common cards are your entry point: easy to acquire, solid for building basic decks, but limited in edge.
Rare cards step up your game: better attributes, nicer abilities, and more strategic value.
Epic cards are high-performance assets, often game-changing when matched correctly.
Legendary cards are the crown jewels—extremely rare, extremely powerful, and often pivotal in top-tier matchups.
Beyond those, there’s also a Gold Foil variant of each card. These versions are much rarer and carry bonus effects—plus they require fewer duplicates to level up. When you open a card pack, every card has a small chance to land as Gold Foil.
Merging: Elevate Your Cards
Rarity is just part of the picture. All cards—regardless of rarity—can be merged (i.e. combined) to increase their level, unlock new abilities, and boost performance.
The process is analogous to mechanics in other card games: you take multiple copies (at the same level) of a card and merge them to create a higher-level version. As you upgrade, stats improve, and some newly merged cards may gain abilities or modifiers unavailable at lower levels.
Higher-rarity and high-level cards yield better returns: they perform better in races and tend to drive higher rewards (fuel, tokens, etc.). One nuance: even Gold Foil cards can be merged, and because they demand fewer duplicates for each step, they’re especially efficient as you scale your roster.

Expert Tips for Mastery
Don’t just chase Legendary—a well-merged Rare or Epic can sometimes outperform a base Legendary card in the right build.
Balance your investment: Keep some lower-rarity cards that you plan to merge over time.
Gold Foils are power multipliers: If you can get your hands on them, prioritize merging them.
Watch your card copies: Only merge when you have enough duplicates to spare; sometimes holding onto extras is better for future strategy.
Understanding rarities and mastering merging is a core pillar of MoonKarts. Nail these mechanics, and you’ll see your lap times drop—and your rewards rise.
