Battle outcome
Extra rule was Keep Your Distance. In it, Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.
My defense was made of Failed Summoner, Prismatic Energy and Acid Shooter.
As usual, I've used my cleanest defensive combo when an enemy melee front-liner isn't what I'm worried the most about: Failed Summoner and Prismatic Energy.
Of course, this is what I would pick in a Keep Your Distance battle, when Melee Monsters can't even be used.
I don't think there's any lower Mana defensive strategy more effective than my dear Magic Reflect duo!
Because I'm so acquainted with older picks, you might be wondering...
'Why is Acid Shooter a defensive Monster?'
Truth be told, he offers a lot of health for just two Mana, while still providing a bit of damage.
Whenever I choose Acid Shooter without Prince Rennyn as my team's summoner, it's just so he stalls for a little longer.
In this case, it's so Child of the Forest gets more time alive dealing a whooping 2 ranged damage a round, which is very good in a Bronze League level battle.
My offense consisted of Dwarven Wizard and Child of the Forest.
Ignoring the enemy's front-liner is a always must. If you don't have the cards to do it, then you have to use a less advantageous tactic. You'd end up wasting time hitting where your opponent wants you to hit.
Dwarven Sniper and Child of the Forest come in as my glass cannons this match, sniping out all of their important monsters, while Riftwing mindlessly idles.
This results in Venari Bonesmith and Life Saffer both dying early without having the chance to build up their health. If I chose to hit their frontliner instead, I'd be in danger, but my strategy managed to avoid that situation completely.
My support monster was Wood Nymph.
A prime pick when it comes to Tank Heal, Wood Nymph sustains my defensive Monsters for a long time while my offense shreds the opposing backline.
There's no better healer when it comes to Bronze League, where even 1 point of Magic damage hurts a lot, since very few Monsters have the Void ability.
I was very happy with this tournament battle's results. None of my opponent's weapons gained traction, as they pretty much killed themselves on my Magic Reflect defenses, followed by my snipers quickly fishing them off.
