As human beings, we love recreation. It is one of the things we use to relieve ourselves of stress.

In some cases, we use these recreations as relaxation or moments to share nice and good times with family or friends.

Among all these recreations, we always have that special one that stands out among them.

For me, i am not the type that go out for recreation, most times, i spend my nice moment at home with my family.

But there was one particular 'Adda' that i had during my final year days in the University.

As the Welfare Director in my school, we set out to take our new students out of our current state which is Lagos to Abeokuta, another state in Nigeria.

We headed straight to Olumo Rock. Olumo Rock is a mountain in south-western Nigeria. It was initially used during inter-tribal warfare in the 19th century.

It's now turned to a tourist centre where people from all over the world visit because of the height of the mountain and how small rocks hold big ones and the rest.

One that faithful day, we got to Olumo Rock in the afternoon. We were asked to pay before entering. When we entered, we still paid to use the facilities there because giant rails have been built around the rock for people to climb and see the rock and its surroundings.

Almost everything is available to buy there but we went there we our own food and drinks so that life can a bit easier for us.

A woman and a man took us around and showed us the many hideouts in the mountain, how people survived in the mountain during the war.

We were told lot of first hand stories about the history of the mountain. We moved from one corner of the mountain together to learn and see how amazing the mountain is.

It was my first time of listening to history and being showed around to explain the incidents that happened in the same place i was standing in the 19th century.

While we learned a lot about the mountain, we didn't leave the fun out. We went back to our meeting point where we have DJ ready and danced all through.

It was fun meeting new students, seeing them dance, laugh and having fun.

While we chatted, danced, ate, drank and shared some wonderful moments, the knowledge we gained was interesting for me and it stands out among other things there.

Interestingly, i took a course in Language Department and questions about the mountain came out and i was just smiling answering them.

That had to be my best 'Adda' ever because of the knowledge and we know that knowledge is power.

Thanks for your time.
