I watched the deep blue sea 1 in 2000. That is over 20 years ago, but I missed deep blue sea 2 in 2018. I remember there were a couple of big names, like Samuel L. Jackson and LL Cool J in part 1. The plot was about a Doctor trying to get a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and they tried to use something from Shark’s brain.
2020 is like a continuation of this. It is about a team creating a database called Triton which uses AI to identify and study the organism in all targeted areas in water. The team is led by one Dr Emma Collins and they travel down to a man-made island in Mozambique to study the effects of climate change in the ecosystem. Their study was going smoothly as they interact with White great sharks until another Team led by Emma’s high school boyfriend, Richie, showed up.

He claimed there are Bull sharks in the water and they want to get them out so that they won’t end the ecosystem. Emma was surprised because there were never Bull sharks there, but she offered to help them. In their first attempt in water, one of Richie's boys, Brown, got eaten by a Bull shark.
One of Emma’s team lady, Miya, is an environmental acoustic propulsion engineer. She was the one managing the Triton and seeing everything in the ecosystem. Things did not seem right so Emma’s got her tech tracker guy, Spin to track down whatever happened to the sharks and how they got to be in the water.
This is when Spin found out that the Bull sharks were in Akheilos (a place for some kind of experiment) before they enter the water. Emma talked to Richie about it, and he had to explain everything about the studies and experiments a big Pharmaceutical company did on the sharks. They are trying to get treatment for Alzheimer’s, so they genetically enlarged the brain of the Bull sharks. Therefore, the sharks now feel and behave like humans and they become more aggressive.
One of Richie boy overheard Emma and Richie's conversation and he got furious and start fusing up. He overpowered Richie and got the remaining two guys with him. The sharks continue to attack and a shark ate Richie. This was a scene I like, because the shark was smart and picked him up like a goalkeeper 😝. Sharks killed Two of Emma’s team member. Only Emma, Miya, and a lady living in the Island survived the sharks’ attacks, but Emma and other guys killed the Bull sharks.
It is a very interesting movie to watch. But they did not make the shark attack to be as original as I would like it. I like something raw. They tried though, but I just feel it wasn’t enough. I would rate this movie 7 of 10.
Whoaaa that looks hella interesting! The first one I watched was also the part 1, it was too bloody ibeg, this one looks pretty interesting too I might just download it now and watch it today...
