Phone Photography Contest - #54: A Walk around Poolsbrook Country Park

With the arrival of a mini summer, I took the opportunity to meet a friend for a stroll around Poolsbrook Country Park. This beautiful park features scenic views of lakes and boasts a few walking trails, fields, children’s play areas, birdlife, café, and facilities for camping and caravanning.

There are many birds here, but it seems there are even more than when I last visited. From swans and ducks to Canada geese, greylag geese, grebes, moorhens, and coots, the variety is impressive. I'd taken some duck food with me, so they had a good feed.

The area also had a lot of beautiful white doves, one of which was peacefully sitting in the shade beneath a tree alongside the pigeons.

The hedges along the trail were starting to burst with colours, particularly the delicate blossoms of the blackthorn.

Although we were surrounded by the countryside, the electricity pylons loomed not far away.

After one circuit of the lake, we could have extended our walk by venturing up the nearby field, but instead, we decided to stop at the café for a coffee!
