Even though there's still some signs of autumn, quite a few of the trees are looking a bit stark, especially now that the snow has gone.
Even without leaves the trees can still look interesting as you can see how their branches twist and turn. This is Boggart's Burrow on the Longshaw Estate. It is a great place for children to play in. In English folklore, a boggart is some sort of spirit or an evil genius!
At the local reservoir it felt even more bleak with the wind blowing over the lake.
The starkness can challenge you as far as finding interesting compositions, but I quite enjoy the challenge.
This my entry to the Season Hunt Challenge 'Bare Trees' with thanks to @barbara-orenya. Check it out here.

Thank you very much @ecency.
This feels ancient with a lot of snow.
I feel like there is a backstory to these photos.
Apart from 'Boggart's Burrow', they're just random trees but I'm sure they could tell a tale or two!
I like when you bring out that bit of history 😁
Thank you. My pleasure @luigi-the-gnome.
I really liked the reflection on the water! Great black and white photos.
Thank you. They looked bleaker in b&w.
Wonderful B&W shots @ellenripley 😉
Thank you @barbara-orenya.
